Restaurants & bars

Guests of Al Husn can enjoy dining at all of the Shangri-La’s numerous restaurants, cafés and bars depending on their tastes. The hotel features two of its own restaurants – Shahrazad, which is an à la carte, luxury cruise liner-themed restaurant, and Sultanah, Muscat’s only Moroccan eatery – which children over 12 are welcome to dine at. The Mahhara Beach Bar is located adjacent to the hotel’s private beach and Al Muheet is hotel's the casual poolside eatery; both venues are for the exclusive use of guests at Al Husn. There are plenty of opportunities for novice and accomplished divers to discover life below the waves of the Sea of Oman. The onsite dive school Extra Divers offers a variety of experiences including sunrise and sunset dives and try dives as well as a number of PADI approved dive courses.

There are a number of incredible dive sites nearby including 10 sites at the nearby island of Fahal and the wreck of the 84-metre vessel Al Munassir.

Sustainable features

The Turtle Care Project has been set up by Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa as part of Sanctuary, Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project. The aim is to help protect the region’s endangered hawksbill and green turtles as well as educate the guests and local communities about these wonderful creatures.
