There's a range of restaurants and bars here. Al Waha’s main restaurant, Samba, serves a variety of international dishes while Assira is an ideal spot for a casual family lunch at the pool. There's a total of nine restaurants, bars, cafés and lounges throughout the resort.

Chi is the resort's spa where you can indulge in a range of treatments and make use of the facilities which include a steam room, hydro pool, tropical showers and ice fountain.

Learn about the endangered hawksbill and green turtles from the Turtle Ranger, have a game of tennis, meander down the lazy river or go on a boat cruise in search of dolphins.

There are plenty of opportunities for novice and accomplished divers to discover life below the waves of the Sea of Oman. The onsite dive school Extra Divers offers a variety of experiences including sunrise and sunset dives and try dives as well as a number of PADI approved dive courses.

There are a number of incredible dive sites nearby including 10 sites at the nearby island of Fahal and the wreck of the 84-metre vessel Al Munassir.

The Turtle Care Project has been set up by Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa as part of Sanctuary, Shangri-La’s Care for Nature Project. The aim is to help protect the region’s endangered hawksbill and green turtles as well as educate the guests and local communities about these wonderful creatures.

The resort runs a Turtle Care Project, designed to protect the endangered turtles on Oman’s beaches. A dedicated turtle ranger is on-hand for educational talks, and your children will love learning about the resort’s efforts.

The Al Waha Family Room comes with two interconnecting bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a DVD player and a PlayStation. For more space, opt for the Al Waha One Bedroom Suite, which has separate living and dining areas. Complimentary baby cots can be provided.

The Cool Zone Kids’ Club, for children aged 4-8, is open from 9am to 6pm and features both indoor and outdoor play areas. Children under 4 are welcome too but will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Adventure Zone is located at Al Mazaar souk and features an extensive range of modular play areas including slides, climbing walls, ball pits and soft play areas. Two children’s pools are available – one at Al Waha next to the Assira Pool Bar, and one at Al Bandar by the Circles Pool Bar. Splashpad, which is located at Al Waha, is an aquatic play area where children can enjoy a variety of water effects.
