Qt Hotel Stay
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Comphy beds, suites are lovely! QT hotel chain is top notch 5 star quality! Hotel offers a swimming pool! Not to far to walk into town but is up a steep hill so be prepared. Very clean rooms. Lots of fun things to do!
Nicest hotel we’ve stayed at in NZ!
What a fantastic experience! We came to Queenstown to celebrate my special birthday and it has been awesome! Service at reception was first-rate,so friendly and helpful. We were thrilled to receive a free upgrade to a lake view room. When we got to the room there was a birthday card, bubbles, balloons and chocolate waiting for us-so spoilt!
A fabulous stay
QT hotels are always fabulous and Queenstown didn’t disappoint. Reception staff so friendly and helpful! We booked an Alpine room but were kindly upgraded to a partial Lake view on arrival as the hotel wasn’t full. Amazing view, spacious room. Coffee, tea great. Mini bar reasonably priced, ice brought promptly to the room. The in-room umbrellas very handy on a snowy weekend! Walked to town several times in less than 10 mins and used the access through Rydges Hotel. Will stay again!
Faulty Towers, the worst QT experience
QT - always been a luxury, fun brand. NOT here in Queenstown. Major disappointment, as our lockdown escape holiday. QT have taken level 2 too far, or just not interested. The apartment, has no views, we noisy street side, no worries we can have a coffee & read book in a public space....NO, they are closed to 4pm. All soft furnishings removed from the room for safety, but the bar items remain. No water jug for coffee, plus no coffee or sugar anyway (COVID spreaders??). One morning we had dinner spoons for our breakfast, next day there gone, and ate breakfast with teaspoons. Have to request a room service....yet we still charged full price. Staff also mis informed & conflicting messages each day. Faulty towers experience, from check in to check out and not the funny version. With so many other luxury hotels in Queenstown, do yourself a holiday-favour and find them.
A guilt-free feeling of staying in :)
Ever feel like if you stay in your accommodation a little too long, that you're missing out on so much exploration outside? Trust me, that isn't the case here ;) QT Queenstown is located in the town's city centre close to where most attractions are, or where you will most likely be picked up for whatever activity that is. It is VERY accessible from the airport - the bus stop is right across the Rydges Hotel. You get off, enter Rydges, take the lift to Level 6 and then take a different lift to Level 8 that will take you to QT's check in desk. There is absolutely no need to walk up via the Brunswick street unless you love walking uphill. This is the way to go to get in/out of the QT Hotel. The pleasant walk to the Steamer Wharf area will take you about 6mins. If you're driving, the on-street parking in front of Rydges is free. If you can't find a spot, QT has paid parking too. Now, the Lake King room.. it is dreamy, alright! Postcard views everywhere you look. Stay in, stare at the views all day - no problem! The room in itself is also something. QT has that vibe and you will certainly feel it. Aesthetically pleasing and highly functional pieces, this room has. We thought it was smart how some non-mini bar items within the room are for sale.. We got a deck of cards to take home as a souvenir. Items are reasonably priced too! Another thing we loved about the room is the bathroom.. very stylish and it would be a sin to not utilise that standalone bath!! Apart from all that, another stand out is the service delivered by its staff. You gotta feel for the people working in the tourism industry and I often hear that if they ever miss a mark, just let it go. The staff in QT are all still working and delivering exceptionally well despite how hard hit they are over this Covid period. Commendable effort to each and every person who were on over 13-15 September. And to the guy at the reception on the 12th who ever so kindly allowed us to move our booking date a day later due to our plane not being able to land that day. Sorry, I can't remember your name. To Maria who brought us extra toiletries and coffee pods when we requested for them. To Johnny who accommodated our extended checkout request. Thank you. You all are what makes this hotel. Thank you for the short but sweet stay. We will definitely be back.
