Great value at Covid prices
One of the better quality hotels in Queenstown. Well presented, and rooms are serviced to a high standard. The price point mid 200’s is about right for this standard of hotel. Pre Covid prices of 400-500 put it outside the affordability of most Kiwis so I suggest you jump in now while the prices will stay around the affordability range. My only concern is the parking. NZ has been relying on domestic tourism for a year now. Many more visitors are driving cars to travel, unlike pre Covid times when hotels are filled with coach loads of guests. So they need to up their game when it comes to parking. 30% of the parking space was blocked off with plant boxes. It took me 20mins to manoeuvre into the the last of two remaining parks. Apart from that, highly recommend the establishment for a short stay
Quirky and fun
King Lake View room was lovely. The set up in the room is excellent. Tricky lighting and loved the cocktail ingredients waiting for you on arrival to make a cocktail (you pay). View was amazing. My one gripe is that no enough storage space to hang clothes and bits. (We were there 6 nights). Staff excellent. Trim milk in my room every time we asked and it arrived quickly. Juliet balcony where you could stand out and watch the action on the lake, Its at the back of the Rydges hotel. You go through Rydges to get down to the road quickly and an easy 5 minute walk into Queenstown. Rydges staff no where near as friendly as QT staff though.
Hi Thanks for making our stay comfortable. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is pristine. Really good facilities and fantastic views. Great team great place great times. Thanks again.
Modern and well-presented
The hotel is very modern and well-presented. It rates itself 5 stars and certainly qualifies - but not only in the price of the breakfast We were in a room that had separate sleeping and sitting areas. Whilst stylish, we found the lighting too low generally for reading unless you were sitting directly under a light and even then .... The restaurant was closed but we ate in the bar area and the food and service were good. However, disappointingly on the second night, we did not stay for a meal in the bar area as the music was loud with a deep bass beat. The staff did offer to turn it down, but by that time we had decided to leave. It is an easy walk into the town from the lower level (through the Rydges hotel) We would certainlly stay here again, as the pluses outweighed the grumbles.
This was our second stay at the QT as we loved it so much the first time! We were on the last leg of our honeymoon and we arrived to rose petals and bubbles and face masks and a lovely note. Both stays we found the service excellent and were made to feel special. Great views, 5 min easy walk along the lake into town, comfiest bed, great bar and love the decor! Only place we will stay in Queenstown when we visit!
