Charming hotel with views across the Waimea inlet
Renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, this English village-style accommodation is set on the Monaco Peninsula with views across the Waimea Inlet to the mountains of Kahurangi National Park. Made from bricks and timber salvaged from the Nelson Wharf, which was built in 1842, the hotel and cottages are set along charming streets and around a village green.
The award-winning restaurant, The Monaco Kitchen, serves dishes made with regional produce, and accompanied by wines and craft beers. The 'high street' is also home to a small outdoor pool, a fitness centre, a spa, a hairdresser and an on-site craftsman jeweller who specialises in engagement and wedding rings. Hire bicycles and explore Nelson's scenic bike trails such as the Nelson/Tasman Great Taste Trail which passes right outside the hotel.
Standard Rooms overlook the cottages and gardens or the Waimea inlet. The One Bedroom Studio Apartments are more spacious and feature a dining and lounge area. The One Bedroom Cottages are split-level apartments with a loft-style bedroom featuring a four-poster bed and spa bath, and a kitchen, dining/lounge area and courtyard downstairs. The charming Two Bedroom Cottages are split-level apartments with a kitchen, dining and lounge area, and courtyard – ideal for families and groups.
Waterside, on Nelson's Monaco Peninsula. A 15-minute drive from the centre of town.
