2 Night Stay
Great location with the lake view room giving a great view across the lake and Mt Ruapehu. King size bed which was great, excellent shower and all on level ground with a easy free car parking right at front door. The staff were awesome and very attentive to helping out. Restaurant served a great evening meal for our group of 7. Room decor is now getting very dated and a little tired. Would have liked some kitchen utensils in room for snacks & cocktails as the ground balcony setting was lovely for chilling out on to take in the lake views. However, for the price it was excellent value and I would definitely stay again. This is our second visit.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was welcoming by the receptionist staff & we were shown around. Our room was spotless and the view was amazing with lake views. The spa was well done & enjoyed a nice relaxing soak. Will definitely be back as it was great value. Breakie was delicous with great menu.
We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Manuel’s over Easter. A lovely spot overlooking Lake Taupo. The walkway was quite busy with cyclists, scooters and people just walking. Some commented on the smell coming from the seaweed that had gathered near the walkway, we couldn’t smell it from our room which was upstairs. The room and facilities need upgrading but it was clean and tidy and service was good. We had buffet breakfast each morning which was okay and set us up for the day. It’s a pity that most of the accommodation in Taupo doesn’t get a lot of sun due to the fact they face the lake which is more of a southerly outlook. We would stay again.
Easter stop over
Very dated bathroom and rooms and reception decor resembled a bordello. However, a young woman on reception was most helpful and pleasant. The place needs a revamp. Stylish in the 1970s, but no longer
We stayed here over Easter weekend and had high hopes as the pics looked good. Our room looked nice and updated however the bathroom was old and balcony unusable as the smell from the lake was so strong and pungent. The beds are pretty bad, we both had terrible sleep and woke with sore backs each morning. Usually the beds at hotels are much nicer than my own, but these beds are old, bouncy and just awful. We selected to have breakfast included which I would highly recommend not to. There was very little to choose from and the little they did have, wasn’t replenished frequently enough. I ended up having toast each morning. They seemed understaffed and couldn’t keep up with the amount of guests - this morning we weren’t offered coffee at all. All in all, I wouldn’t come back here. The high price paid in no way reflects the very average stay.
