The Lodge At Kauri Cliffs, Matauri Bay

5

A world-class plantation-style lodge set on a 6000-acre estate overlooking the stunning Cavalli Islands.

On your approach to this exclusive Relais & Chateaux boutique lodge you will be struck by the breathtaking panoramic views of the offshore Cavalli Islands. A white-columned veranda wraps around the welcoming country house-style lodge and the service is exemplary – you will feel like a treasured guest in a grand home.

Activities here showcase the region’s natural beauty, from the award-winning par 72 championship golf course which boasts a dramatic cliff-top setting to nature walks – ranging from a ten-minute bush walk to a two-hour hike to the beach. A winding fern-lined path leads to the lodge’s sensational spa which is set in a Totara forest overlooking a stream.

Gourmet à la carte dining is available in the main dining room or on the verandas and in the summer you can head down to Pink Beach for barbecues. Cosy dens are available for private dining or you can arrange a picnic on the beach, by a waterfall or in the forest.

The six lavishly spacious residence-style Suites are set in three charming cottages and each feature a cosy fireplace, sitting area, sunken bath and magnificent views of the golf course and ocean. 16 Deluxe Suites are set at the edge of the forest, opening out to a large private terrace and some interconnect to a smaller second bedroom – ideal for families.
