We stayed at the Sebel Viaduct for 5 nights at the very end of February, from a Tuesday to a Sunday (the Sunday Auckland went into level 3 lockdown). We have visited Auckland many times before, but this was a first stay at this hotel, because the hotel we have used in the recent past is presently a COVID isolation hotel. As an Accor Plus member we were upgraded from the studio room which I booked to a 1 bedroom room. Appreciated the upgrade. A wine and a beer were waiting for us in the room's fridge, but as neither of us drink beer I requested a swop to a second wine. This was done promptly. I also advised that the safe was not working. This was fixed the next day. Location is good, with one exit being directly out to Viaduct Harbour. Very handy and great to go out for a walk around the harbour, or to access the many restaurants in this area. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but as it is an apartment hotel we had a full kitchen, so were able to eat in if we felt like it. There is a supermarket a short walk away. We came into town from the airport via bus and train and it is a short walk from Britomart Train Station. We were on level 1, facing the street. There was a little noise, but nothing major, even though we were there over a Friday and Saturday night. Having read some reviews complaining about the noise, I was expecting far more, given the proximity to Viaduct Harbour and so many restaurants. The accommodation is comfortable and clean. We were very happy with this hotel and would use it again.
excellent central location
My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Sebel. The location was excellent - a very short walk to the Viaduct. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and tidy. we would definitely stay again :)
Great location, Nice rooms
The Hotel is located right off the viaduct harbour and has direct access to the harbour walkway and great restaurants. The rooms are of good size and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there again.
Stunning view of the Viaduct from the well appointed deluxe marina view room. Really helpful staff and so close to all the action in the Viaduct The view actually took our breath away. This is where we will celebrate any special occasion from now on. Restaurants galore within a few steps.
I booked an executive suite online. Got confirmation and completed the online check in the morning of our arrival and was senta check in code. BUT we arrived at the Hotel to discover there was in fact no record of our booking and no room available at all. We were offered a room at another Hotel - a room that in no way matched what we had booked our met our needs in any way so there was nothing to justify us taking the tiny room or paying the rack rate they were asking us to pay for it. We left the Hotel absolutely gutted as we had booked the room to celebrate a very special occasion with friends. We literally turned around and left Auckland in tears.
