Mean spirited management
Hotel looks lovely however the service is terrible. I mistakenly booked this hotel for 5 nights instead of 3 for a staff member, when I discovered my mistake I contacted Air NZ the booking agent to ask for help, literally within 30 mins of making the mistake. They changed my booking after speaking with Sebel and I thought nothing more of it. Check my credit card and not only had they charged me for 5 nights with no refund for 2 unwanted nights but had charged my card again without authorisation for 3 nights. So I have now paid for 8 nights. Call booking agent again who contacted hotel - no refund, too bad. Really?!
Spent the night in Auckland and was looking for something downtown, comfortable and with a view. This place had great customer service and the location was perfect! The rooms were clean and tidy but not super modern, the view was great. Cheers for a the hospitality
As usual, excellent service with friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to the viaduct and restaurants. Also held a meeting in the hotel (first time). Will definitely use again, room ready for us when we arrived - and we were looked after all day.
Rooms a bit tired
Selected this hotel based on its location for a weekend in Auckland Location was good but the public areas and the rooms themselves are very plain and in need of maintenance and modernisation. Basis room maintenance matters have not been attended to, such as loose/broken tiles on the deck. Furniture was also relatively basic. Positively room was warm and although I though it might be noisey with people outside it wasn’t.
Brilliant Second Visit
Hubby and I stayed one night to celebrate him becoming a pensioner. It was our 2nd visit. The suite was very spacious as we chose the biggest one and used our Accor Points for a very cost effective night and once again we had a great view over the viaduct. There were some treats left in our room to celebrate his birthday so that was a bonus. We parked at the Downtown Carpark as found it easier as the first time we stayed it was a bit tricky so all ran smoothly. Friendly and efficient staff on Reception. I have earplugs and sleeping pills so didnt hear any noise from the restaurants below but would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper although I am sure there is double glazing. We will be back for a 3rd visit at some stage.
