Stay 28th and 29th JUNE 2020 Toilet, when flushed, a HUGE flow of water and runs for an extraordinary period of time. A shame when Auckland is in a period of water restrictions Otherwise, the stay was perfect.
Good Visit to the Big city
As a family of 5 we booked a King suite and inter connecting twin room. The parking valet came with the package and was great when we pulled up to the main entrance and bags were taken to our rooms. With bot the rooms we had more than enough space for 2 adults and 3 young children. We only had a couple of minor issues with the room but when we came back in the afternoon to find that all the key cards were not working on both the doors, that was the last thing. I laid all the issues out to the person at the front desk, she was very understanding and got the manager. they offered to change rooms but as it was our last night we declined. they offered a discount on the rooms and a nice box of chocolates. All in all the stay we had was very good, breakfast at the Grand was great, the location was good and professional service of all of their staff from the valets, porters and front desk made a stay in the big city very nice.
Loved our stay. Room was perfect. Nice view of the harbor. We were upgraded for free with free complimentary mini bar and sky tower passes. Can not wait till the renovations are completed. Will definitely stay again if the price is right
Modern room, unfortunate service
Made to wait 25mins to check-in with just one person ahead of us in the queue. This customer was asking a lot of questions and constantly changing their mind etc... did the attendant ask anyone else to help? No. Did the concierge who just stared at us offer to help? No. We stood there while a queue gathered behind us and then our check-in took less than 3 mins. No sense of customer service. Room was nice and modern, clean, comfortable. View wasn't more than a road but expected that. I did request that two flute glasses and ice be waiting when we arrive at it was, as promised. Casino wouldn't let my wife in because she was not part of their rewards program, went to register and "our system is down". Pathetic really considering we are already registered guests of the hotel so contact tracing would be easy. Went to the bar to get some drinks, waiter returned with only one of them and explained that the other was not available. He said he'd give us a couple of minutes to order something else and never returned, had to find a new waiter to help us. Nice hotel, wouldn't return because the service is atrocious.
My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the SkyCity hotel. It was a great staycation for us with everything going on. The staff were very lovely, attentive and helpful. I’d definitely recommend staying there.
