Mokuti Marvelous Lodge
What an absolute wonderful stay we had at Mokuti Lodge, From the Gate tocthe Reception to the Restaurant... Every Staff member embraced us with open arms, especially Delfina, Patrick & David. We Loved every minute of our stay and will definitely go back for their Breakfast, lunch and Dinner. Compliments to the Chefs. Lots of Love The Carew Couple.
A step up from accommodation inside the park
It was no more than a quarter of a mile from the Etosha NP gate to the entrance to Mokuti Lodge. Once inside it was a short drive through expansive and well-maintained grounds to the lodge itself, where it was immediately clear that standards of customer care left the state-owned lodges in the park trailing well behind. A cheerful porter – the smile may have been bolted on, but why be churlish and try to look behind it? – stopped us under the archway by the reception area, motioned us to a parking space, and took us in to register. The young lady receptionist had the same instant smile and slightly artificial hospitality industry air, but it was a damn sight better than a long face. When we had our key the porter came back to the car, put our bags into a golf buggy, and drove us and them down to our room through a green and tree-studded central area with a swimming pool to one side of it. Banded mongoose pottered about on the grass outside our room, unconcerned by our arrival. Here the rooms were in single-storey ranges of five or six, entered through sliding French doors. Ours was spacious and generally kempt – good big bathroom – and it made the digs at Okaukuejo look squalid. We put ourselves in order to have a wander round the grounds before dinner, I drew back the curtain, and there on the lawn, in the characteristic eating-on-their-knees posture, were a couple of warthogs. We ate on the terrace of the main building, the usual buffet, and once again the cold starters attracted me more than the main course. I have tasted better roast pork. Good sponge pudding and custard, though.
Most Enjoyable Stay
Enjoyed a 2 nights in the lovely surroundings of Mokuti Lodge with friendly animals walking around it also included a fitness centre and tennis court also an interesting reptile centre the accommodation was lovely food in the restaurant was amazing so many choices for breakfast and dinner and the deserts were delicious so delighted I had my trip before the lockdown
Too short !!
Unforgettable stay in this hotel. Not only for the safari for watching face to face lions but also for the infinite kindness of the staff not only in our room so perfect and nice but also for the great moment at the dinner : by enjoying the food grilled front of you, all the restaurant staff came to our table to sing and dance just for us and our honeymoon. We would like staying longer to enjoy the swimming pool and more the bar and the breakfast ! See you soon hopefullyyyy
Did not honour prepaid Booking.Com reservation. Beware of this travel provider and also the small minded attitude of a s
We had a prepaid non refundable reservation through Booking.Com. On checking in the hotel indicated they had no record of the reservation. There did however honour the rate and I provided them with email confirmation form Booking.Com that I had paid for the reservation. When we checked out two days later, I was forced to pay for the accommodation. I did so expecting American Express to cover me, this was not possible given more than 3 months had lapsed since the date of reservation. I have since returning home engaged on multiple times with both the hotel, their central management and Booking.Com to no avail. I find the attitude of the hotel group and its management concerning and the incompetence of Booking.Com astounding.
