Amazing in every way !
I have loved this hotel for many years, the beautiful architecture, pools, restaurants and quiet pool areas truly are an oasis. We were so looking forward to visiting again. I wanted to write this review because whilst here the Corona virus is having a devestating affect across the world and impacted Morocco also. The Manager and staff of this hotel have continued to provide the most amazing service in such difficult times and dealing with stressed tourists trying get home, cant be easy. All too often we forget the human side of this and the Moroccans themselves must be very fearful and yet they continue in their daily duties. When the last guests leave in a couple of days, this magical, majestic hotel will no doubt close its doors for some time. My sincere thanks to you all, for trying to keep things as 'normal as possible' in such difficult times. I hope one day to return again to your majestic country and my favourite hotel ever! Thank you!
Four days is to short!
Perfect location next to the famous square Djernaa El Fna. We had a fantastic suite nicely decorated Marokkaan style. Hotelroom was very quiet and we were even on the street side. Cleanliness, friendliness and food services were great. Fresh flowers in your room, in the lobby and outside in the garden (surround the swimming pool) were lovely. Together with nice temperature (27 Degree Celsius) outside our stay was to short.
Ideal romantic getaway !
First impressions are often right, but not here. Arriving down a dusty street I thought we were in the wrong place, but once through the door you are transported to another world! The reception area is beautiful - dark, sultry and very Moroccan. We had arrived an hour early (despite French air traffic controls best attempts to route us the long way around) but our mini-suite was ready and oh, what a fabulous room! Large, luxurious, well equipped and with rose petals everywhere! Lovely bathroom, lounge area and a private outdoor terrace Hotel itself is rambling, but lovely. Very quiet despite being right in the centre of Marrakech. Two lovely pools including one on the roof that has the benefit of a gentle breeze. Comfortable sun loungers make it a pleasant place to relax either in the shade or the sun. Restaurants very good, serving a range of different foods. Also discovered vin gris which is rather good (apologies to any sommeliers for my appalling grasp of wines). Gorgeous spa area underground. Gym small, warm but perfectly adequate...let's face it, you are unlikely to be spending much time in it! Helpful staff on reception organised a private tour of the Medina and attractions which was was well worth it. Overall, a fabulous hotel in a.lively and interesting city.
Oasis of Calm
This was our first time in Morocco so we decided to look for somewhere nice with good reviews. We didn’t want a Western style chain Hotel and this place did not disappoint. The immediate impression as you walk in is the coolness from the heat and the sudden transformation from organized chaos on the street outside to almost stunning tranquility. A lovely welcome drink of mint tea was served as we checked in and bags were taken to the room. The staff took time to show us around the grounds on the way to our room which was really nice. It was an older style room in décor but it gave it an authentic feel and my good lady got very excited when she realized we had separate loos and bathrooms. I was not allowed to trespass in her domain! The bed and lounge chairs were really comfy and the room temperature was easily controlled day and night. Every day the ladies who cleaned our room provided us with a new style of towel folding and petal arranging. Not something we usually expect but a nice touch to underline the superb cleanliness of the hotel. There is loads of space to relax outside in the large courtyard, a haven for shade if you need some and there is a roof top pool and loungers with café if you want to soak up the sun. We took breakfast each morning and it was lovely. Plenty of choice for all tastes with the usual continental style of cheeses, meats, pastries breads and orange juice constantly being freshly squeezed. We varied between al Fresco and inside seating during our stay. The hotel guest relations manager (Sorry I forgot her name) was superb. She arranged a couple of tours by private car, one local and one to the mountains. Do expect to be taken to the Tanneries and spice shops and do expect to be hassled for sales but if you have a strong character you can overcome this. We failed miserably. The tour into the Atlas Mountains was well worth it and we persuaded our driver that we had no desire to stop off at any markets, Souks, Shops or camels! He got a free lunch for obliging! This type of holiday was very different to what we normally do and the Hotel made it a really good change to make.
Amazing 3 night stay
My husband booked this hotel for my birthday - it was situated in the old part of Marrakech, close to the grand mosque and the medina was around a 5 minute walk. The hotel was very tranquil and beautiful and on arrival the staff were welcoming and we were given tea. Our room was very spacious and overlooked the pool. Breakfast was included. The service was very good, and good choice of hot and cold breakfast with delicious fresh orange. We had lunch at the hotel which was great and also the Moroccan restaurant which we would recommend. The reception manager was very helpful during our stay and arranged a private guide for a morning called Abdul, well worth the cost, we visited the palace, museum and souks and was very informative about the area, all on foot. The hotel has lovely spa facilities, we had a relaxing massage each which was a nice treat followed by the spa pool. If we come back to Marrakech again we would definitely stay here again.
