Restaurants & bars
Overlooking the pool and ocean is the main buffet venue MIXE. Open for breakfast and dinner, the restaurant features a number of live cooking stations, an Asian corner, a tandoor oven and a teppanyaki area. The dedicated chocolate room will delight guests with a sweet tooth as well as the extensive desert and pastry buffet. For casual beachside dining there’s the open air restaurant Beach Rouge which is open at lunch and dinner. Dishes here are created with the freshest seasonal ingredients and the catch of the day. The lounge area is a fantastic place to spend a few hours with comfy cushions and cocktails and tapas. Duck Laundry is one of the island’s most popular Chinese restaurants, and as the name would suggest, duck is a particular favourite here. Mouth-watering dishes are accompanied by Chinese teas and Far Eastern spirits. The final of the hotel’s four restaurants is the beautifully designed Amari by Vineet, which serves Indian dishes designed by multi-award winning chef Vineet Bhatia.
Named for Kelly Hopper, the designer responsible for the resort’s refreshing interiors, the K-Bar serves exotic cocktails alongside a range of craft beers that have been created at the onsite microbrewery. An alternative spot for drinks – this time more traditional rum-based beverages, visit Mari Kontan, the resort’s very own rum ‘shack’. Guests can sample locally-made varieties and buy bottles to take home as a souvenir. For a morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up, there’s Café LUX*, where coffee – made with beans roasted on site – is made to order by expert baristas who are always up to date with the latest café culture trends.
The LUX* Belle Mare is a perfect choice for family holidays. Play is the resort’s fantastic kids’ (3 to 11 years) with a splash pool, outdoor culinary school, buffet station, reading corner and a quiet zone. For teens (12-17 years) there’s Studio 17 which features a DJ zone and offers adventure trips throughout the island. For sport-loving youngsters there are Teddy Tennis coaching sessions, while budding bakers can enjoy making and decorating a cake as part of ‘The Cake Boss’ activity which takes place every Friday afternoon at 3pm, or visit the cake decorating bar where they can get creative with pre-made cakes and cupcakes
