With luxe cabins, a plush on-board spa and the chance to dive deep into clear waters home to mantas, hammerheads and whale sharks, Scubaspa introduces an extra special way to discover the Maldives.
Scubaspa brings a new concept to the Maldives, combining premium spa treatments and exceptional diving as it sails around this picture-perfect archipelago. This is not your average live-aboard. The Floating Resort is a 50-metre purpose-built luxury ‘safari yacht’ with PADI 5 Star Dive Resort status and a real wow factor. The design is sleek with wooden decks and modern cabins, and a 30-strong crew – including four spa therapists, a yoga master and four chefs – means there’s a high staff-to-guest ratio. A separate dive boat accompanies the main yacht, carrying all dive equipment including air compressors and Nitrox.
Though Scubaspa’s main focus is diving, the yacht’s unique aspect is that, thanks to the supreme comfort and spa facilities, it appeals to non-divers, too – perfect for couples or friends with different interests. Guests can choose between inclusive spa treatments, dives, or a combination of the two. And this floating resort doesn’t overlook the key reasons that travellers flock to the Maldives for, either; its itineraries include sunrise yoga sessions, snorkelling, watersports, beach barbecues under the stars, and visits to tiny uninhabited islands.
Dining on board is at the Al Fresco restaurant on the main deck. Three buffet-style meals are served here each day, with evening meals including Surf and Turf nights and Sundays seeing guests treated to a traditional roast dinner. Luxury cabins and suites have a neutral décor with lots of wood, modern en-suite shower rooms and air-conditioning.
Sea Star Cabins are located on the lower deck with opening port lights and queen beds, while the Dolphin and Manta Suites are on the main deck and have panoramic windows so you can drink in the views. The Cowrie Suite is at the bow of the lower deck and has a sofa bed that can sleep a third guest.

Best of the Maldives itinerary
Day 1 Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Malé.
Day 2 Today you’ll be welcomed aboard The Floating Resort by Scubaspa. Enjoy a buffet lunch, settle into your cabin and attend an induction with the cruise manager and crew. Tonight there’ll be a welcome dinner before the yacht sets sail towards Coco Bodu Hithi in the North Malé Atoll where you’ll anchor for the night.
Day 3 Early risers can get their day underway before breakfast, with a morning test dive and a sunrise yoga session. A second dive at Boduhithi Manta Point offers an unforgettable opportunity to spot manta rays from December to April. The yacht then sails towards Rasdhoo Atoll for a third diving opportunity at Rasdhoo Madivaru Channel, where non-divers can also snorkel or venture ashore on the beach at Madivaru Finolhu.
Day 4 An early start brings the chance to dive with hammerhead sharks at Kuramathi Kandu. The rest of the morning can be spent snorkelling, trying out watersports and lazing on the white sands of a picnic island. After lunch, the yacht sails towards the North Ari Atoll where a thrilling night dive at Maaya Thila shows a very different side to the underwater world.
Day 5 The first dive of the day is at Fish Head, known for its rich marine life and population of grey reef sharks. An optional yoga session is held on the beach at Meerufenfushi Island before the yacht makes its way towards Constance Moofushi for a second dive at Moofushi Manta Point. Following lunch, sail towards Innafushi Island for a third dive at Bulhalhohi Caves. Tonight’s dinner is a memorable beach barbecue under the stars.
Day 6 Today it’s all about whale sharks. Two whale shark research trips will introduce you to the world of these gentle giants before the yacht sails on to Dhigurah Lagoon. Tonight a presentation by the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme will add further insight.
Day 7 This morning’s dives include Kudhima Wreck – purpose-sunk in 1999 – and Broken Rock. After sailing on towards the Alimatha area in the Vaavu Atoll, there’ll be a visit to a sand bank, a night dive with nurse sharks at the Alimatha house reef and a movie night at the yacht’s outdoor cinema.
Day 8 Your final full day begins with a dive at Miyaru Kandu, before the yacht sets sail towards the South Malé Atoll for dives at the excellent teardrop-shaped Kandooma Thila and Kuda Giri wreck – a small wreck at around 25 metres – plus a visit to Sexy Beach and a local island trip. In the late afternoon, the yacht will make its way towards Kurumba for a sunset cocktail on board.
Day 9 Disembark the yacht after breakfast and transfer to Malé airport for your return flight to the UK. Alternatively, choose to extend your time in the Maldives with a stay at one of our hand-picked island resorts.
Good to know
UK departures every Friday to join the yacht on the Saturday. This is a sample itinerary and is subject to change. Scubaspa has two almost-identical sister ships, Ying and Yang. Guests will typically be accommodated on the Ying, while the Yang (which has the addition of a fitness room but no couple’s spa room) will be used once the Ying is full. The Full Board Scuba package is only available to certified divers, though guests on the Full Board Spa package can learn to dive with a Discover Scuba Diving taster session or a PADI Open Water Course. Regulators, suits and weights can all be hired on board at extra cost; there is no need to pre-book. Couples who have booked one Full Board Scuba package and one Full Board Spa package can exchange dives and spa treatments. Spa treatments must be pre-booked; reservations can be made from the evening you board. 4-night packages are also available. The yacht is in dry dock on selected dates.
