11 days Halaveli - paradise or heaven - we are not sure. everything is perfect. The management, the stuff, extremely friendly and helpful. Best service, great food, big range of wines. Diving fantastic. Sharks everywhere, corals recovering everywhere, even the housereef is worth seeing. Corona rules are also perfect. Felt safe all the time. The resort even makes PCR Corona tests at Male Airport for the guests. We come back !!!!
Trip of a lifetime
We are frequent travellers, always looking for new and unique experiences. After booking a trip to the Maldives last minute our experiences at the Constance Halaveli was the best holiday we have ever had! We were looking for a luxurious, beautiful, romantic couples location to relax and enjoy activities and excursions and that is exactly what we got. The resort is beautiful and amenities are of high quality whether on the water or on the island. We booked the all inclusive package and it was exceptional. Including all you could want in terms of food and drink as well as credit for spa treatments and some free excursions, it was well worth it in our opinion. What really made our trip exceptional however, was the staff. Everyone from the pool cleaner to the restaurant manager went above and beyond to make sure our stay outstanding. We only stayed for 5 days but we felt like we were leaving some friends behind. We have to give a special mention to Jaya the pool cleaner who showed us the sharks on our way to breakfast every morning, told us the best places to snorkel and even reduced the chlorine levels in the pool in our water villa when he saw I was pregnant. Siraj from the dive centre was incredible, such a positive and up beat character, you could tell he had a real passion for the ocean. I was keen keen to do many of the excursions even though I was pregnant and he, without request, always made sure I was safe and well looked after. Adamino greeted us from the sea plane and tended to our every need and even had a special gift delivered to our room for us. We looked forward to seeing Rasheed the restaurant manager for breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. He really paid attention to the details and made us feel special. JP from the management team also deserves a special mention for making us feel extra special, he was very open and honest and we had some great conversations about travel and the resort. Lastly, receptionists Mina and Sachika were so lovely, coming to find us to see how our day went and going out of their way to help us with bookings and advice. We were so sad to leave Constance Halaveli and we are already thinking about when we can go back. A huge thanks to everyone who made our stay so special, even the many who we didn’t mention! We hope to see you again soon.
Return to Paradise
This was our 6th visit to the Maldives, but our first to Halaveli, and what a fantastic experience. This resort really is the height of luxury. Spacious villa (water villa) and large private deck with plunge pool. We debated long and hard whether to go All Inclusive, but in the end stayed with Half Board, which was perfect - AI really only necessary for very heavy drinkers! The food at all three restaurants was truly outstanding, Jing being our favourite. As has been commented on previously the main pool is in need of renovation, but only for aesthetic reasons - it really is a splendid, large pool. The staff are without exception wonderfully friendly and will do absolutely anything to make your stay memorable. Obviously we cannot remember everybody's names, but we were made to feel especially welcome by our Halaveli 'family' - Rasheed, Zaheem, Rosh and Nisa, whom we miss terribly. Hoping to return in 2022.
Perfect Family Holiday
We travelled at the end of March into April, three families with children aged 1-8. Our third time in the Maldives and overall our best trip. As a place for a family holiday, Constance Halaveli is one of the best we have been to. First, what it is not. This is not the W, the One and Only, it’s not a stylish honeymooners resort but rather an elegant family resort with excellent service where everything just runs perfectly for groups with young children. The Room - we had two rooms over a ten day stay. First, a family beach villa with outside bathroom and a small side bedroom with bunk beds for the children. This would be our pick for families, with the children having their own room. The beds were comfortable, there was ample storage space and the outside areas were great. Inside, the room wasn’t highly styled and felt like a normal hotel room as opposed to anything particularly Maldivian. Next we had an overwater villa, fine with five and seven year olds but I wouldn’t do it with younger children. A long long walk back to the main island. Again, a beautiful view and nice outside area but inside the room nothing special. Beds were comfortable although in the water villa the children had to share a sofa bed. Food - There were three restaurants open: Buffet - excellent for a buffet, they mix up the options. Casual, semi open air, you could walk in with wet swimwear, very relaxed. Meeru - A La Carte on the beach, next to the buffet. Good grilled fish and meats. Jing - Over the water, the fine dining with an eclectic menu from Asian to European. Overall 7/10. Not amazing, but good and we looked forward to meals. This isn’t a place you would go to because of the food, but it’s not a place to avoid because of the food either. Rasheed who runs the buffet was excellent and so helpful in accommodating our large group and children. Wine - I have to mention Rimal the Sommelier. We had the all inclusive package and the wine was excellent. There was a broad selection, Rimal worked with us to figure out what we liked and we drank excellent wine throughout the holiday. A few of the group are quite into wine and were perfectly satisfied with the options in the all inclusive. We went off piste for a few dinners and ordered fine wines that we had to pay for. The selection was amazing, the wines were in great condition and drank well and Rimal’s preparation of the wine was perfect. Overall Rimal was fantastic. Pool/Beach Area - Stunning, large common pool with great seating. The beach goes all around the island and great for swimming, protected by an artificial reef with lots of blacktip sharks and other fish to view without going to much effort. Service - Excellent. Some of the best we have ever seen. Not in your face but when you want something it arrives without you having to ask twice. Lucas the front desk manager made us so welcome and wasn’t above driving us to our villa himself in a golf cart when it rained and we needed help. The waiters were all great. We used the babysitting a lot, which was expensive - over $20 an hour. However, Mary the babysitter was brilliant, our children loved her and it was nice to have the same person every time. Kids Club - Not a large kids club but well run. The three ladies who worked there were a dream, our children loved them all and they were hugely accommodating. It’s a small island, so the children can bounce in and out throughout the day and the ladies will bring them back to you if the children want. They don’t have enough staff to keep kids in who don’t want to be there, so perhaps not the place for people who want to put the children in for 8 hours a day without seeing them. Our children loved it including the special activities like beach bonfire. Also, they are open late and will take the children whilst the adults have a dinner, so you can get some alone time without booking a babysitter. Setting - On a beautiful reef, you can see some other resort islands in the distance but you really get that ‘middle of nowhere’ feeling that I like about Maldivian resorts that don’t overlook developed islands. The island itself is small but stunning. Perfect. Overall - The amazing natural setting, amazing service, amazing wine and good food made our holiday. The only negative is that the interior design in the rooms and throughout the resort isn’t as sleek or themed as it could be but there isn’t anything wrong with it. Highly recommended for family holidays, we will return.
