Husband booked a night to celebrate my birthday in SLKL and it was awesome! Friendly staffs greeted us upon arrival and check in was smooth and quick. Front desk even wished me Happy Birthday and informed a cake has been placed in our room. As for the room, it was spotless and really really clean! Had a tough time choosing which pillow from the pillow menu and the operator was kind enough to explain which is the best option. In-room dining food is delicious, lemon garden seafood buffet is mediocre but overall, we enjoyed ourselves here so much that we will be back soon in May! Can't wait to stay again..
Can offer a lot more
The rooms were smaller than the Sheraton. The minibar was empty- could be a Covid measure, not sure. The breakfast was truly blah. Room service was severely delayed. I'm not sure most of this was because they were on reduced capacity of staff. I can definitely say that there was no reduced guests! The place was overflowing!
Staycation @Shang-ri La Kuala Lumpur
The name Shangri-La is a big name among hotels. Having stayed in SL hotels in Golden Sands Penang for 3times, once in Jen Hotel Georgetown & SL Chiang Mai, I expect the same hospitality and services from SLKL. SL hotels is always my first choice. Check in process was slow but the service from the staff was good. Each guest took a very long time to check in (I’m not sure why...?) which ended up guest standing in the queue for some time. Room was clean, furniture and condition of the room looks clean and refurbished. We got the room facing KL Tower. As the trademark of SLH, the food is always on top of the list. Booked the Horizon Suite room, evening tea and cocktails is inclusive in the room package which I advised to book such room if you have no intention to eat outside the hotel. Our room package also includes the kids activities like Treasure Hunt at Maze Garden, Bingo Time, Art & Craft. I would suggest only kids involve in the activities, parents should stand aside and wait). Ask how SLCM do it! They have good activities for the kids. The staff in the Horizon Club Lounge is also very friendly and courteous. Nia, Pat and others in HCL and Rinni (if not mistaken) in the Lobby Lounge is very friendly and helpful, same goes to the chefs in the HCL as well. Breakfast in HCL is also superb as they served limited choices but good food (how much a person can eat, right..?) There’s one issue that I would to highlight here : the swimming pool area. There’s a signage of number of pax for each time at the pool area, but its merely a signage for ‘decoration’. There’s no control over how many people can be at the pool area. At times, it can be so crowded like a public pool! I also notice many guests are not wearing proper swimming attire (when there’s a signage said so). It is not hygiene at all! I can see many fully clothed guests entering the pool and the staff ‘just closed their eyes’. As a 5-star hotel, this is a very basic rule for swimming pool. I seriously hope the management would do something about this. Last but not least, thank you for everything and everyone in SLKL that made our staycation memorable and unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back here for a longer stay! Perhaps Traders Hotel, next..?
Shangri La KL
Great service and food is superb! Love the room and ambience of the hotel. Totally recommend it! Hope to come again to Shangri La KL next time around for more exciting experience! Keep up the good work!
Rundown & due to refresh
Hotel rooms & swimming pools are rundown and I don't think is a good choice for staycation or vacation here. Breakfast also very limited choices of vegetarian foods despite the fact notified hotel earlier during booking time & no action or respond at all. Booked 2 rooms & 2 nights and is a waste of it.
