Thank you Pauline & team - a magical stay.
Our trip was spectacular from beginning to end. The camp was beautiful with pristine rooms on the bank of the Talek River - hippos outside your veranda! The staff at the camp were over and above the most attentive and friendly we could have asked for - nothing was too much trouble. Pauline, the manager organised a spectacular birthday balloon safari, sundowners, bush breakfast and visit to sister camp Mara Explorer for lunch - could not have asked for a better birthday. Our driver was knowledgable, professional and ready to answer any of our (sometimes silly!) wildlife questions - we were lucky enough to see so much, in large part due to his expertise, experience and diligence no doubt! What a special place and I recommend this camp highly to anyone who wants to experience the Mara. 10/10
Fantastic! 7 star service 5 star accommodation
We spent a magical 4 nights at Mara Intrepids, if you’re into luxury service and luxury living this is the place! The staff are phenomenal, they will make you feel like you never want to leave. They are always one step ahead of your needs and will go far out of their way to make you relax. Pauline and her team know the real meaning of service. At a time that the travel industry has been so impacted by C-19 this team has kept the standard up despite fewer guests. They give the VIP treatment no matter what! The Mara has so much to offer, you’ll see the big 5, and thanks to the relentless yet responsible drivers, you’re guaranteed to see all the amazing animals up front, without disrupting to the natural way of life. The camp even has a resident elephant bull, you can’t ask for more. Thank you team Intrepids, keep it up!!!
A safari to remember
Our adventure began early at Wilson Airport - Nairobi on the 16th December 2019. We used Air Kenya return flights. A party of 2 adults and 1 child for 4 days. Sat right behind the pilot had a real experience, as you looked out of the window you could catch glimpses of elephants and giraffes. We landed safely at Ol Kiombo airstrip and were welcomed by our guide/driver, animal encyclopaedia Reuben and his trusty Land Rover. After a short trip we arrived at the camp Mara Intrepids and shown our tent which was right by the river. The accommodation was fabulous with everything you could need within the tent. Next morning we took the early extended game drive which included a breakfast picnic. Reuben was spectacular throughout our stay and we cannot thank or praise him highly enough. Meals were taken at the camp (we had full board) and the chefs went out of their way to provide whatever we requested - even ugali for myself. As a special request. Everyone was really kind, friendly and accommodating. A highlight for our child was the Chief’s evening wildlife talks which were informative, amusing and he’s a great ambassador for his Masai people. Go on the nature walk if you can, fantastic ! And although my daughter was a bit trepidatious at first, the Chief put her at ease and once again we were treated to fabulous sights, smells and sounds. Slap on the factor 50 though as the equatorial sun is very strong!! If you can visit the Masai village and experience the sundowner - please do as it’s breathtaking ! We opted for the morning and evening drives to avoid the midday heat. Everyday was an adventure as you never knew what you were going to see. We also had an evening sundowner - with drinks and snacks- watch out for the Hyenas lurking around. Reuben was there though - thanks again ! We truly had a great time and cannot thank the staff enough for making our stay so memorable. Daisy at the reception - thank you for your kindness. We would return in a heartbeat as it was really beyond expectation. The hot chocolate and biscuit every morning was delightful. The hot water bottle every evening before bed- truly appreciated. Thank you Mara Intrepids and all your member of staff. You were all amazing and it was truly magical!
Perfect Safari Lodge - Professional and Excellent staff
We organized our 6 days family safari to Kenya with ajkenyasafaris.com. Initially, we had thought of booking our stay in a different lodge but James advised us to book with the Mara Intrepids Luxury Tented Camp and we are glad he did. This safari lodge is magical. Our rooms had river views and we could see crocodiles and Hippos. The staff were professional and the food was tasty and varied; you could choose between local and international cuisines. The receptionists, Mary, was warm, welcoming, and resourceful. The SPA is at a different level and overall, our stay here was unforgettable. Thank you to the whole team. We will be back.
Wonderful place where we were treated as family!
Such a wonderful place. The staff was amazing and so friendly we felt like we were home with family. Mary and Daisy at reception couldn't have been nicer and they were so helpful. I had fallen and injured my leg at The Trout Tree Restaurant and Jeffrey, the Intrepids nurse, took great care of me changing the dressing and checking on me daily. Reuben brought us our coffee and cookies in the morning and our hot water bottles at night and was very pleasant. John, our server at the meals, was great. Our game drive guide, Samson, was fantastic and very adept at spotting the animals. Our room was right on the river with a terrace and lounge chairs where we could relax and enjoy the hippos right below. Monkeys were very interested in our cookies so we had to keep our doors securely fastened. We loved lying in bed at night listening to the hippos below our terrace bellowing and making lots of noise. So relaxing and peaceful (except for the hippos). The meals were wonderful and the desserts a work of art. Had a great massage right by the pool and river by Ann. We didn't want to leave and would definitely return to this magical place!
