I was in Negril for first week of vacation then AirBnB and just 3 nights at Hilton to end my vacation because I wanted to play in water park and eat some yummy food and honestly Hilton was a disapointment .... I had just been at another resort where I had soo many activities to chose from I could not keep up . But at Hilton I was at gym 2 times for a class and yoga and no one showed up ....cancelled but no sign. I don't usually even comment about food but your main buffet is just falling short and I hope it was just because I was there off season .... I don't blame staff they were great really trying to be 4 star but I think the were lacking resources and staff to give guests what I experienced at neighbouring resorts You are missing an entertainment staff .... daytime pool fun and kids activities And a nighttime show and night club dance instruction would be nice because otherwise you are just a hotel
Wonderful Thanksgiving Vacation at Hilton Rose Hall
My husband, sister, brother-in-law, two nieces (ages 19 and 14) and myself enjoyed a wonderful 5 days at the Hilton Rose Hall over Thanksgiving week of this year. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and there were several other people arriving at the same time waiting to check-in. I will say we had read a lot of reviews before our trip and we knew to expect a slower check-in based on what everyone else has said. It definitely was a slower check-in process but we were greeted with a cool towel and delicious drink while we waited and we were just happy to be in paradise. The lobby is expansive and open and has a great view of the main pool and ocean. Neither of us had issues getting the rooms we reserved and were able to get into our rooms immediately once checked in. My husband and I reserved an ocean front king and got exactly that. Room 104 was amazing!! The rooms are your typical size hotel rooms and are very clean and well-kept. Housekeeping did a great job every day of providing new towels, making the bed, etc. The property is beautiful and well maintained. It is spread out but does not feel too large at all. The fact that it is spread out is so nice because we never felt like it was overly crowded in any of the different areas of the resort. We have stayed in Negril on a previous trip and the beach is definitely cleaner/smoother/calmer water on that side of the island but the beach in Montego Bay was still lovely and the staff at the Hilton do a great job of cleaning it up every day and all day long. We never had an issue finding chairs at the pools or at the beach. The lazy river is so fun! We really enjoyed that a lot and always were able to find tubes with our group of 6. Even during a busy time of day we were able to find tubes for everyone. Sometimes you just have to wait 10 minutes or so but there are always people coming and going. The water slides were a blast! Even us adults enjoyed them and found ourselves going on them again and again. The buffet is great and has options for everyone. Our favorite spot ended up being Moonstone/Annies on the far side of the beach. This restaurant is awesome and the pizza during the day is delicious - the ladies back there work very hard on the many pizza orders they get all day long. In the evening it is Annie's smokehouse and is soooo good! We had dinner there twice. The ambiance of being outside near the water/beach and the steel drum player and the people that work there all make for the perfect evening. Calvin in the kitchen was our favorite and we had so much fun with him quizzing us on US trivia and then, of course, we had to come up with some trivia questions to ask him as well! We made sure to find him every night after the first night we met him and he was so kind and wonderful! The bartenders at this restaurant were also always fun and energetic and so nice as well. I can't forget the jerk hut!! We had jerk chicken and pork almost every day for lunch on the beach and it was soooo delicious. Kudos to the guys in the jerk hut they were very friendly every day! Some feedback for the resort would be to have more music playing - all day, every day, everywhere! The lazy river, the beach, the bars, the pool, etc. And play more reggae everywhere!! Overall we had such a great time and if you don't have a good time here then you might just be really hard to please or be able to find negative in anything you do. In our group of 6 people we all agreed we would want to come back and are mostly likely going to do that next year for Thanksgiving again at the Hilton Rose Hall!!
All of the reviews are true!
Yes it’s all true! The good, the bad, and the ugly!!! Check-in process: Absolutely horrible. I takes about 10 minutes to get checked in and at times there are only one or two front desk agents. Like others on here, I reserved a king but was offered two queen beds. We declined and just had to wait a few hours. The external property: outstanding!!! The internal property: it’s ok The food: delicious! The best you’ll probably ever have at an all-inclusive. The customer service: hit and miss. Some staff members were very nice while others were not. If you don’t have kids it would be okay to go. The kids are not constantly in you way.

Felt at home the minute we walked into the resort. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurants are excellent. For the 3 fancier restaurants, make sure to book your reservations when you first arrive and then relax the rest of your visit. We're already planning our return.
Not my favorite Hilton!
While the property is nice, the people are pleasant....the customer service is lacking and fragmented. It took us two hours (not exaggerating) to check into the hotel. Mind you they have dozens of life guards and bar tenders, but they are understaffed at the front desk. Many staff members were wandering the property looking for something to do, while the front desk staff was slim and not informative. After waiting for two hours, we were told we were getting an "upgrade" Our room, down a musty hallway on the fifth floor was paltry and substandard. Further, the front desk staff, did not provide a map of the property or tell us the about the reservations requirements to dine at the restaurants. We dined at the Mango bar for a late lunch. Starving, we were told at 4:30 they were out of Jamaican patties. We were also told they were out of jerk chicken for the nachos. Huh? While eating my tacos, the server came to remove my salt and pepper. I explained that I was still using the salt and pepper and it was STILL removed. I brought the issue to the attention of the manager named Chanel. She apologized profusely and gave us a better room with a view and an amenity of moldy fruit and watered down house wine.
