My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel, for a belated anniversary trip. The hotel is situated within Juliets Courtyard, which does pose a bit of a struggle trying to get into during the day. This is completely out weighed by the private access you have to the courtyard once it is closed. Our room was large and overlooked via a balcony, on to Via Cappello and towards Piazza delle Erbe. The only downside to our room, was the bed was very very soft which I found uncomfortable. Also the protectors used on the matress were waterproof(understandably), but were very scrunchy and made a noise everytime you moved. They also made us very sweaty at night. There are far better waterproof products on the market which could be used. There is no dining room or bar in this hotel, so you choose your breakfast in the evening and it is delivered the next morning to your room. The hotel does offer room service, which we never used. We could find no fault with cleanliness, friendliness, umbrella service. Our room was a bit noisy, but it is in a city centre, so we expected this and didn't mind. This is a really lovely, old, quirky boutique hotel thats different due to its situation and feel you wouldn't be dissapointed.
Atrocious breakfast but otherwise OK
British Airways proposed this hotel, and a big drum roll is made of it overlooking the courtyard with Juliet’s balcony. We stayed four nights. For the five star rating, the room was comfortable and the location good. The hotel is bizarrely devoid of any reception or manned entrance. However the main reason you might look elsewhere is the disappointment of the breakfast. I’ve had numerous exceptional breakfasts in Italy but this is a disgrace to the country’s fine coffees, meats, cheeses and bread. Weak fruit juice, sour banana yoghurts, and always stale bread, and the piece de resistance was the scrambled egg. It was as if made by a 5 year old and then blitzed in a food processor. Disgusting
Beautiful Hotel ...Scammy Service
We stayed in this hotel for two nights in January (which I assume is low season). The hotel was quite cute and reasonably clean. We even had a balcony from which we could see Julliet's balcony. Overall we enjoyed our stay. However, I am leaving this review to warn others that the management of this hotel is sketchy. We did not have a reservation in Verona and were planning to stay one night so we looked on the various Internet booking websites for a place to stay and found this hotel. Unfortunately, we decided to just go to the hotel instead of booking through the Internet. When we got there we were told that they only had one room left and that it was significantly more expensive than the prices I had seen on the Internet. I then showed the hotel employee the booking sites showing current availability and lower prices and she told me that the Internet sites were wrong and that those room were no longer available. We then decided that we had obviously been hustled a little bit but decided to stay one night anyway. Then our travel plans changed (because of flights) and we needed to stay one more night in Verona so we asked if the room was available for an additional night. The hotel employee said that it was but for a even higher price. I looked again on the Internet and saw availability at a lower prices but we agreed because we were already there and I don't like spending my vacation fighting over prices. Overall, it was a nice hotel with an excellent proximity to an interesting tourist attraction but the managment is a bit dishonest.which I find classless.
I stayed here over the 6-8th December with my wife whilst we were visiting the Christmas markets in Verona. For the price that we paid we thought that this was a truly outstanding hotel. We stayed in a stunning room on the top floor which was split into two levels with a mezzanine for the bed. There was a balcony with great views over the rooftops of Verona. The room also had a beautiful bathroom with a jacuzzi. Breakfast was brought to the room each morning which was a nice touch and it was very good. The staff were all very polite and welcoming. The location of the hotel is excellent as it's right next to the main piazzas and tourist attractions. As previous reviews have noted the entrance to the hotel can get crowded with tourists visiting the balcony, but this can be easily bypassed by walking through the shop next to the entrance, and so it didn't bother us. It's not often that I would go back to a city just to stay at a hotel again, but this place falls into that category.
We loved staying here! Aside from working your way through the crowds visiting the famous balcony, the location is perfect. Very central to everything and easy to access the main sights and shopping area. The room we had was lovely! It had a Jacuzzi bath, super comfortable king size bed and lovely decor. It was perfect for a romantic weekend away. The staff were all very polite and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only comment would be that there was no coffee/tea making facilities in the room or nearby but otherwise no complaints. Highly recommend!
