The staff here are outstanding, welcoming, friendly, attentive, cheerful and a pleasure to converse with. A special thanks to Stefano, Alfio, Margherita, Pietro, Luigi, Salvo and more who’s names we fail to remember now. The setting is fantastic, beautiful, peaceful, clean, historic, there are. It enough words! Huge thank you to the staff for making this visit so memorable and we so hope to come back.
Excellent Hotel with Excellent Service
Excellent, well decorated hotel with many amenities including a private beach, rooms are well furnished, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, excellent service and breakfast with an incredible sea view. However, the hotel was overpriced compared to other 5 star hotels on the oceans/seas around the world
Best of summer In Europe
Europe 50 years ago with all modern conveniences. Spectacular service. Wonderful food and great guests. Wonderful beach service with many water sport options. Our suite was spectacular with lemon trees groaning with fruit on the balcony.
Beyond Incredible and surpasses expectations
I went to the Belmond VSA two years in a row, June 2018 and June 2019 (planning my return for June 2020). I got married at the hotel June 2019 and I couldn't be happier with my decision. My husband and I were blown away by the aesthetics, service, quality and food offered at the property. It brings tears to my eyes because I have never had a better experience and I travel a lot! Everyone is so kind, remember you by name and all of your preferences for the entire stay. I don't know how they do it but they really do set the bar high! I stayed in a Junior Suite with an ocean view and it was like a dream falling asleep and waking up to the view of the sea. The room's accommodations are impeccable in any style room (we had family members in basic garden view and sea view rooms). Now the food for breakfast, lunch and dinner knocked my socks off every time! They revamp their menu every year with only the best items and really outdo themselves. Not to mention the wine and cocktails pair perfectly! LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Cannot pick a better place to stay! Their private beach area is for quests only and there is no fee to reserve a chair and umbrella. Service is available for food and drinks! The cable car to go into town is directly across the (small) street the hotel entrance so you're not stuck on the property or required to take a taxi. Taxi actually takes longer but more ideal for handicapped guests. I recommend spending the beginning of your day and afternoon at the hotel and enjoy the property. Head into town after dinner, and enjoy an early dinner so that you can catch the gorgeous sunset (around 8 pm during the summer season). YOU WILL NO BE DISAPPOINTED AND GUARANTEED TO RETURN. I promise you will compare future travel to the standards Belmond VSA sets.
My spouse didn't want to leave (neither did I)
I didn't much want to leave this hotel, but my spouse actually felt some serious grief at leaving here. Before we arrived, we had requests and needs, all of which the staff addressed with alacrity. When we arrived, we were welcomed kindly by a gentleman who drove down with us to help us find the check-in and valet-park our car; he and the front-desk staff were very helpful. Checking in to our room, we ordered some great room service. I also walked down to take a look at the restaurant; it was captivating in the moonlight, which sparkled on the water, as their pianist played beautiful, relaxing music. Our room was gorgeous. Virtually perfect. (The only thing we had to quibble about was that the shower was TINY. Whoo! You couldn't turn around in it.) Especially the balcony and the view of the ocean. We just couldn't get enough of that view! Every morning, we either took our breakfasts out on the balcony or went to the restaurant, in either case watching and listening to the water lapping against the shore, giving us a perfectly peaceful feeling. Of course, with the beach chairs right there, we took a day and did absolutely nothing but swim in the Mediterranean, read, and lounge on those chairs, while the staff kindly brought us drinks. It was a great way to do the dolce far niente (we don't do that enough at home, or even on vacation). The town of Taormina is gorgeous, this hotel is perfect, Sicily is wonderful (historic sights, great people, and some of the best food in Italy). We couldn't stand to leave, and hope all our vacations are this wonderful.
