Just returned from an amazing stay at Chia Laguna Hotel Laguna. Gorgeous food, friendly helpful staff and lovely surroundings. They were even kind enough to leave some food in our room on our first night when we checked in after midnight. However, the cost of drinks was HUGE. 2 Ichnusa beers on the beach (bought in person at the bar) €16. 125ml measure of sparkling wine at dinner, €20. But the real kicker came when we had a bottle of rose in La Terraza restaurant priced at €45. Didn't really think anything of it. But then a trip to the supermarket down the road for supplies the next day revealed the exact same bottle of wine on sale for just €6!!! I understand restaurants mark up wine but in my view a 7.5x markup is utterly obscene. Left a pretty poor taste in the mouth and made us feel taken advantage of. Shame, was a nice stay otherwise.
Chia Laguna - a 10th wedding anniversary we'll never forget!
We were looking for a special trip away, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Somewhere beautiful, that wouldn’t be too hot or too cold. Somewhere child-friendly for our 3-year-old daughter. Somewhere that had good food, pools, and that was close to the beach. We couldn’t have asked for more - the Chia resort delivered on all this and more! On arrival, we were told that we’d been upgraded from the 4-star ‘Village’ part of the resort, to the 5-star ‘Laguna’ part. A great start! We were greeted with a complimentary ‘welcome drink’ at the reception bar, while a free bottle of red wine, a fruit platter and some sweets were waiting for us in the room. The room itself felt luxurious and spacious, with a private garden looking out on a lagoon with wild flamingos (which our daughter loved!)... and the sea beyond. Absolutely stunning! We found lots of attention to detail too - the small things which make a difference, like bath robes, slippers and a small fridge (it was a minibar, which we used to refrigerate things we bought from the supermarket). The staff were just fantastic from day 1 - Acting Manager Stefano Floris was amazing, and made us feel like personal guests from beginning to end. So attentive - we needed a kettle to warm our daughter’s milk in the morning - we asked... provided within minutes. The kids club reps (‘Francesca’, ‘Cristian’ and ‘Carolina Cabreja’ in particular (to whom my daughter took a particular shine)) were also fantastic - attentive, interested and very caring in showing all the children a great time. The evening disco was brilliant, and our daughter loved the dancing and seeing ‘Chiabo the Dragon’ each evening. The food was beyond sensational - the best we’ve ever had. It will take some beating. There’s also a little kids train that takes people to the beach from the hotel - my daughter adored ‘Dotto’, and still speaks of ‘her’ now. The sandy beach was amazing, and there’s also a supermarket just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, which sells the basics - beer, wine, bread, milk, cheese, ham, nappies etc. We were so sad when the holiday had to come to an end - my wife and daughter both cried because they had to go! We will be back...
It was great vacation!
I was in Chia Lagoona Resort with my daughter. We had a big and clean apartment with a great sea view from large terrace. We had been there for 10 nights and every day was good in this hotel. There are a hi level restaurant with Italian Cuisine. A lot of seafood, cheese, meat, salads you can taste there. The staff was very polite and try to help you in any case. The weather and the sea was good. But the beach was a little bit far from main building. It wasn’t a problem, because we had a shuttle service every 5-10 min. I have only one comment only. The beach was not so comfortable as I thought when I went to this Resort. By the way it was unforgettable vacation. Thanks all staff and management.
Great Beach service
We just used the beach of this hotel and it was really fantastic. A great animation staff. Everything was perfect. Special thanks to Stefania our coach and to Ivan the best animator you can have. We'll go there again.
Beautiful location however not 5 star quality
Hotel Laguna is situated in a stunning location with a brilliant pool and spa (reserved for the Hotel Laguna area). Our room was lovely, even if the decor and finishings could have been better. The staff were helpful and professional upon our arrival. The food served at dinner from the restaurant was delicious, even if the portions were very small and the service was not five star quality at all. Some examples in terms of the restaurant: wine arriving after the first course and having to request it twice, having to get the attention of waiters to order (morning and evening) and a general lack of five star quality one expects in terms of hospitality and service. In addition to this, given its proximity to the laguna, there is a mosquito problem when eating outside on the terrace in the evening. Overall, the most disappointing thing about our experience here was that the service and general feel was not that of a five star quality hotel. We thought this was truly a pity as we believe there is definite potential for this resort to fulfil a five star rating.
