Just back with mixed views
Different standards of accommodation covered within the Village itself. Took a bit of time to adjust to what was available for those staying at Bouganville against La Dune or Pineta. Accommodation standards are based on middle to high with facilities ltd by this factor. Overall positives outweighed discrepancies/negatives. Kids club excellent including Karting & Bowling. Pistilio was brilliant! Buffet at Pineta excellent with a good range. Restaurant Manager really went out of his way to ensure a good friendly service. Beach Bed reservation facility also well run. Accommodation was good if mid-market, with clean adjoining rooms and no faults. First day; we used Pizza restaurant for lunch which was a mistake. Very busy & we had terrible treatment- when the Pizza’s arrived, young waiter slammed them on the table so hard they bounced! Adult guests/kids on rented bikes decided to use pathways as a raceway without care for pedestrians. Breakfast buffet was also a bun fight with too few staff to cope with the demands/turnover of guests needing tables and food! This got better in the last few days as the numbers eased-off. I often found myself having to clear a table to make way for the family. On one day, we did ask a Waitress to get some cutlery which she then proceeded to slam down on the table but aside from that, staff were always happy to help. Pools and sporting facilities are great for older kids.. More Pool Loungers an absolute necessity- maybe an extra dozen at each site!
Week in Forte Village
Just returned from Forte Village, great amenities, clean and tidy, food excellent. However, the service to the British was terrrible, had to walk out of the coffee shop, as they seemed to be serving Italians first, numerous bars, they couldn't be bothered to serve us. We had lunch at the Fish Market 2 days running, they served 2 meals out of 4, no drinks had arrived, when the drinks did arrive they were incorrect, both days, same service! The booking of the restaurants, simply doesn't work, we were told we were booked into a restaurant 3 days running by reception, when we arrived no table was available. Forte Village is a lovely place if you are a very wealthy Italian family. For a hard working British family, it is very expensive (15 euros for table tennis for half an hour) and very poor service.
