Fabulous hotel, extremely clean. Food delicious and cocktails are amazing
Would definitely recommend a stay in this hotel. Staff are very friendly. Hotel extremely clean. I would describe this hotel a boutique with a very personal touch. I am a very difficult person to please and couldn’t find anything at all to complain about my stay!
Very poor experience, don't stay here
We recently stayed some nights at this hotel. It is a 4 star hotel, but personally I would rate this hotel a 2 star. Here is why: - Size of the rooms, especially the lower catergoy ones, are simply unacceptable for a 4 star hotel and TINY (more like a closet than a room) - Interior of the rooms (we've seen three categories) looks like a children's room from the 80s - Wifi is not working in the room - You have ZERO privacy as you can see the walls, but not hear them (lol), the balconies are separated only by a few plants and you literally sit on the balcony being watched by all other visitors around you - The pool is TINY, don't let the images trick you, its done with a fish eye - The hotel is called "Corallo Sorrento" but it's not in Sorrent, there is nothing around if you think of walking to a nice bar or restaurant, forget it The view is nice, but all the hotels around have the same view, so this is no standalone feature of this hotel. Also the view itself is very narrow, you maybe have a 45° field of view, left and right are walls. You think of yourself bathing in that infinity pool watching the sunset? Forget about that, as first of all the pool is really tiny and secondly the area around the pool is used to set up dinner from the internal restaurant, which is why the pool is closed quite early to allow sunset dinner. We spoke about our complaints with the manager. ZERO understanding. He really thinks his hotel is very nice. He also told us that the room that we chose (we did a paid upgrade skipping 2 categories because the other rooms were simply unacceptable!) was usually, in non-COVID situation, 2-3 times more expensive and we should be glad to have it for 75EUR upgrade cost per night. Well, for more we wouldn't have considered this and would've checked out directly as those rooms, for that price - completely unacceptable. Value for money is very poor. Also, he pointed out that it is important for him to display the hotel as it is (lol) - he mentioned that the photographer did a great job capturing the pool and a lot of people wonder why its so tiny when they arrive, which is for transparency reasons he added a small print with asterix on his own website below the pool. Lol, small prints with asterixs VS. "display the hotel in a realistic way". You had one job. Please, do youself a favor and skip this hotel. Summary: Very old hotel, tiny rooms, tiny pool, no privacy, non functional wifi, ignorant manager, views are not that special due to narrow field of view, location of the hotel is NOT in sorrent city. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Fantastic views, excellent staff
We had a deluxe seaview room which was fine with a nice balcony and fabulous views. Frankly I would not want anything smaller but the room was perfect for us although all shelf space for clothes is open to view, with the wardrobe having 2 deep drawers for underwear etc so no real issues. Sant'Agnello is tiny with about 4 restaurants 2 of which are in the Corallo and the Mediterraneo. The Campanno is very much a locals restaurant, simple food, well cooked and reasonably priced. The Moonlight caters for tourists and locals and is further upscale with amuse bouche, a good wine list and a good menu - very good food. You can catch a bus to Sorrento which costs €1.60 pp and takes all of 10 minutes. A taxi is €18 and if you are energetic it is a 25 minute downhill walk through meandering roads with a lot of traffic. There always seemed to be enough sun loungers by the small pool although in high season this could be an issue. At 6 pm the pool is closed, the loungers stacked away and the tables and chairs put out to become a fine al fresco restaurant with fabulous views across the Bay of Naples to Ischia. There is no beach or access to sea swimming (the Sant'Agnello "Marinella" beach is locals only) nor did we see any in Sorrento, only the typical Italian 'rock platforms' of countless loungers arranged in rows, at a cost. Sant'Agnello station is an easy 15 minute walk where you can get a train to Pompeii and Herculaneum for a few euros each, far cheaper and easier than the formal taxi type tours. When you reach Pompeii station ignore the ticket offices there band walk about 50m to the main entrance where you can get all you need and probably cheaper. We went 1st week in September and there were no queues anywhere. Weather was 30c and very hot and sunny although Italian resorts tend to close at the end of September. The restaurant and Sky Bar at the Hotel Mediterraneo are both impressive but the restaurant provided no service once starters had arrived and we poured our own drinks all night (it was not busy). The Sky Bar has a DJ, great seating, those incredible views and good looking, stylish staff. It also has a drinks menu that seems to cost minimum €17 for a cocktail but is very worth a visit - I would have stayed longer and drunk more but our table was booked in the restaurant.
Hotel Corallo is a fabulous place! The staff is absolutely lovely, their kindness and disponibility makes the experience amazing . View on the sea : fantastic food : fantastic : super clean , I can only hope to come back again, Special thanks to Serena, Luigi and the Chef ! And of course to the maid who made our room so lovely and clean everyday . Thanks to all the other persons whom I don't know the names . We spent a week there and had the dinner included, that was a great option, we highly recommand ! Dai and Emma
Beautiful hotel, charming service
Stayed here after our son's wedding, just what we needed, a lovely break in a beautiful hotel, our deluxe room with terrace overlooking the sea and Vesuvius. All the hotel staff were really charming and helpful and the Covid precautions were excellent. Would love to go back again sometime.
