Location itself is magnificent. Every part of you will enliven knowing that it is positioned on the rocky mountain. Spectacular sea view. The rooms were grand with balcony facing a wide beautiful garden. This hotel has a nice pool area to relax and have a drink. And not to mention the restaurant, overlooking Mt. Vesuvius and Sorrento were eye-popping. This is an extremely comfortable stay. This month is the rainiest month but not usually the coldest one in calendar yet I don't mind returning here as long as sweater and warm coat come in a handy. Staying at Italy's Grand Hotel was all worth it. A truly pampering experience.
Great start to an Amalfi Coast Holiday
Great location, great views, and excellent staff. Great (upgraded) room. Excellent facilities. Had half board, but would have preferred option to eat out on a few nights, eat in (which was great) on others.
My husband and 2 daughters (ages 17 and 21) stayed here in July for 1 week following a few days in Rome. We were in rooms 608 and 612. Fantastic views from our balcony really enjoyed our coffee every morning sitting there before breakfast ( we brought our own kettle, disappointed that there wasn’t one in the room) . Yes I was surprised that there was a road a long way below us but it didn’t bother us at all. Pools were just fabulous and never a problem getting a sun bed.We had lovely lunches at the pool bar. Breakfast was amazing no shortage of anything. Dinner was also very good and it was a nice change to wear casual smart clothes. A special thank you to the 2 Carmines and Fabiano who made all our meals even more special. The minute we stepped into the lift we were met with such friendly people, porters, reception staff, cleaners, waiters, bar staff and pool staff. We absolutely loved our stay and are planning to come back to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in 2 years but this time without our daughters, sorry girls!!
This hotel is awesome all around. The staff was phenomenal, rooms were beautiful especially if you over look the coast, the food was delicious, and the location was perfect. We walked into town every night! We are already looking to come back next year!!!
Incredible views - worth the upgrade!
Splurged for our 25th anniversary and booked a sea view room -with absolutely no regrets! Decadence and professional service throughout our stay from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the bay and pool area. The bathroom was large as well. Location is ideal, with only a short walk into Sorrento. Appreciation for the bottle of sparkling wine to commemorate our anniversary! There were only a couple of issues during our stay that would be notable for potential guests: first, while the view for breakfast was spectacular, every morning of our stay we had to ask multiple times for cappuccino, often needing to flag down multiple staff members and wait over 15 minutes - one morning we were finished eating before our drinks arrived. We weren’t the only guests who experienced this. The last morning we waited asked twice then eventually gave up and left. The wait for omelettes were quite long as well. The other disappointment during our stay was regarding the piano bar: I specifically asked the front desk staff how late the pianist would be playing on our last night as we had yet to enjoy that aspect of the hotel. We returned from dinner to find no one playing at the piano; very disappointing, as we would have chosen to stay in Sorrento had we known. While the days were warm enough to sit poolside during our stay, the water was freezing; it’s unfortunate the pool isn’t heated. Having said that, we would still recommend this hotel.
