We chose this hotel due to the views and the swimming pools. There are several pools cascading down the hillside and the patios beside each one leave plenty of space for relaxing. Great service from the pool bar for drinks and lunches. Had a super room with a balcony overlooking the bay. They had a good system for breakfast and dinner in the restaurant with everything brought to the table. Plenty of variety on the menus. Reception and bar staff really friendly and helpful. Glad we chose the hotel for part of our holiday.
Beautiful hotel with amazing views
This hotel is beautiful, in an amazing location and with breathtaking views over the bay of Naples. Just a short walk to sorrento centre and marina grande .. you have everything at your finger tips. The rooms were nice and big, cleaned daily (sometimes twice a day), great views and the breakfast was good - lots of options available. The only down side was the evening food. We only ate at the hotel once for our evening meal which was the day we arrived after a long day travelling. The food was very expensive, the portions were small and the food was very basic .. I would expect a lot more form a 4 star hotel (we had a similar experience with the poolside snack bar too - pizza was definitely frozen and cost €14). Pools were amazing .. lots of loungers available. Because of the pandemic .. the hotel was very quiet and maybe lacked a little atmosphere but this is obviously no fault of the hotel.. I imagine at the height of season this hotel would be full to the brim and buzzing with guests (this did mean we bagged a sun lounger every day though so worked in our favour some what) Over all a great stay! We definitely will be returning to sorrento in the future and this hotel will be top of our list of places to stay :) Thanks for a great week !
Classy, elegant but empty
This is a fabulous hotel which I totally recommend. The location is excellent with just a 2 minute walk to the supermarket for bits & bobs and a further 2 minutes to reach the main tourist pedestrianised thoroughfare. The hotel itself is a feat of engineering being built into the cliff face with panoramic views across the bay to Naples and Vesuvius. It is kept scrupulously clean and hygiene standards are exemplary. The staff are courteous, efficient and mostly bi lingual and regard service as their pleasure, the rooms are well appointed with the added aspect of a British 3 pin plug socket (but no kettle so take a travel version and your own teabags)). The restaurant is on a terrace overlooking the town and the food is hot, fresh and well presented, you also have a bird's eye view of the daily Sorrento Grand Prix where hundreds of 2 and 4 wheel vehicles race to the first and last bend at speeds 1.very fast 2. recklessly fast or 3. suicidally fast. To enjoy this hotel and Sorrento itself you need to be fairly good on your feet, there are lots of steps, inclines and uneven surfaces so take suitable footwear. So why only four stars for this lovely hotel? For all its classy and elegant bits because of Covid 19 it's virtually empty. Spacious lounges, bars and dining rooms are deserted, sunbeds lie untouched day after day, a grand piano remains silent, the precious element of "atmosphere" is missing. It's such a shame and it's not cheap.
Stunning hotel with amazing views
Stayed here for 3 nights in September and had a great experience in general. I think the hotel facilities are impressive, we had a superior room with a spectacular view over the bay and the city. And the pool area is also one of the best in Sorrento All Covid requirements were in place but this means that the Buffet breakfast is no longer available and while this isn't the hotel's fault I felt that the service was the only disappointing part of my visit. There are a lot of tables but not enough waters to ensure everyone is well served. This also probably leads to those waiters being under pressure and this is reflected in their lack of friendly service. Should say that the Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. However I wouldn't let the waiter service stop me from recommending this place highly
Grand hotel with unbeatable views...
Lovely hotel with a view that's hard to beat. It was my birthday and the welcome bottle of prosecco in my room was a very thoughtful touch. Our room was very nice. We had a balcony but it faced the cliff with a noisy kitchen below, but we understand that sea views are a premium so this isn't a criticism. Breakfast is pretty good though the outside area was covered in aggressive wasps. Again, not a criticism of the the hotel, but perhaps something could be done to make it more tolerable? We were concerned that the walk up from Sorrento would be a slog with all our cases but it's actually perfectly fine. We enjoyed our stay.
