Nice hotel in good location
Stayed for a week on B&B basis. Overall the hotel is nice, and our room had a beautiful sea view. Buffet breakfast was excellent, however if you want poached eggs "the kitchen doesn't open until 8" we were told by our server. Egg station was fine but sometimes a long queue as there was only one chef who was a bit grumpy. Overall a lovely breakfast. We did try a lunch by the pool, but the food was frankly poor. My wife's chicken caesar salad was not good with only a couple of dodgy strips of chicken at the bottom. Eating out is great as there are many really good restaurants walkable. Disappointed on departure. We left our cases beside reception and collected them after breakfast. The two reception staff didn't lift their heads when we walked past them. No "did you enjoy your stay" or even "goodbye". Nobody offered to help us with our cases. Ah well...saved be the tip I had ready in my pocket!
Whilst staying at the Grand Hotel Capodimonte 12-15 June) we had a very unfortunate experience which left my wife shaken: A man physically entered our room in the early hours - on two occasions. My husband went to the night receptionist to report what had occurred. The receptionist said ‘the man was drunk’ and it was now sorted. There was no apology, he didn’t ask if we were all right. In fact, he argued that this was acceptable. Hence our extreme disappointment in the way this was poorly handled without resolve. It is now over a week since we left the hotel and there has been no contact. The following morning we spoke to the hotel reception and General manager who stated ‘ it’s impossible ‘ ... the guest and hotel staff are the only ones to hold the key. This would suggest that some investigation into the hotel staff is urgently needed - he must have been given a key to gain entry to our room. This is sadly not an acceptable response, customer service or care from a ‘rated’ hotel.

Firstly I would like to say what a fantastic time we had at this hotel. The staff and food at this hotel was to a very high standard. The rooms are large and clean. The views from the hotel are amazing and its very hard to drag yourself away from them.It is only a short walk to the centre of sorrento and to the port.Where you can get a day trip to Capri for less that 40 euros and takes about 30 mins but it worth it.We also went to Pompeii through the hotel and I would also highly recommend this trip as the guide was excellant.Overall we had a fantastic stay in a lovely hotel that was quiet and no hussle and busses everyone was chilled and relaxed.
Very nice hotel
We had a great time here. The location is great for walking into the middle of town. The check in went very well. The staff was very helpful in arranging tours. Breakfast is wonderful. The rooms and beds are clean and worry free. The pools are impressive. The overall experience of staying at this hotel in Sorrento is wonderful.
Hotel perfect for facilities views overlooking Sorrento. The food and service was first class also the swiiming pools on different levels down the cliff face were lovely. Only a short walk to the bars restaurants. All the excursions were amazing with the Isle of Capri
