this hotel was fabulous. front desk was most helpful, even calling a store to get location and hours for me. plus, for a minimal fee, you get use of their spa, pools, saunas, etc. so relaxing for the end of a busy trip
slice of heaven!
Amazing facility, premium views forever! Comfortable, updated rooms & amenities, staff always tried to help, restaurant is a must try....only drawback was no feather pillows! Rapallo is an absolute hidden treasure!
The views from this hotel are excellent. Does not matter if you are at the pool, restaurant or a hotel room with a water view, the vistas are amazing. Rooms are rather modern and bright. Food was good as well.
Excellent hotel, a little far from town
We had a large garden-facing room with a huge bed, and a beautiful bathroom. All the staff were very friendly; in reception, for breakfast or at the pool. Breakfast is great, with a large selection of sweet and savoury food, plus made to order coffee. The pool is large and well maintained, although the prices at the pool bar for drinks and lunch are expensive - €12 for a gin and tonic, for example. If you have a car it may be convenient, but if not it's a little far out of Rapallo - maybe a 25 minute walk. It's a nice walk along the seafront, but a bit far to go every night for dinner. There is a lot of choice in Rapallo for drinks, dinner and ice cream. We made use of the convenient shuttle bus to go to Portofino, then got the ferry back to Rapallo via Santa Margarita. There's an infrequent bus that stops outside the hotel, and taxis from the train station in Rapallo were €10, or double when the hotel booked it for us.
Great hotel but ....
Stayed her for 10 nights. The hotel is very clean and well presented. Our room was on the 4th floor and was spacious and well appointed. The staff were polite and efficient. Special thanks to the young pool staff Selene, Vito, Frederico and the pool boy (who’s name we didn’t catch, sorry), who were all lovely. The hotel is about 15/20 minute walk into Rapallo which was fine for us but, to be honest, we got fed up with having to do the walk everyday. Sometimes twice a day. There is nothing closer to the hotel to sit and have a drink or something to eat. This isn’t the hotels fault we know, but the prices in hotel are just a little too high to eat in all the time unfortunately. €12 for a cocktail and €8 for a beer. The cheapest pasta at the pool bar was €15 (I think. I might be slightly out!). One night we were enjoying a couple of cocktails in the bar, piano playing (Sergio you’re great), but there was only us and 2 other couples enjoying the beautiful evening view. I just think if they lowered the prices, only slightly, more people would use the wonderful bar and eat more often at the hotel. I’m not talking have a happy hour! We like the fact the bar wasn’t packed but we would have liked to have spent more time (and money) in the hotel. The food is amazing though. The hotel and pool are beautiful and the overall cleanliness and upkeep are a credit to the staff but we wouldn’t stay here again only because of the proximity to the town and slightly overpriced beverages.
