Magnificent hotel with a huge park and a fantastic restaurant by the lake ... very nice food , great staff , very professional and friendly. The dock with sun umbrellas and san beds is awesome!!!! You can relax, read, enjoy the sun and have a drink without worry about anything!!!! Also the evening restaurant is lovely! Nice atmosphere and very nice food. Great staff. It’s the second year we go and we’ll definitely go back again.
Beautiful stylish hotel
Lovely historic hotel, modernised to an excellent standard. Great facilities. We loved using the private jetty to sunbathe and swim in the lake. The food was excellent - very fresh - and with great service. We'll definitely return next summer, they deserve the custom and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thx for a fantastic stay and for making our day perfect❤. The staff, hotel, scenery, food and everything is excellent. We love this place and we will come back for sure. The park is marvellous and private beach is a great place to relax
An Idyllic Dream
I knew when we decided to stay on Lake Garda for the first time it had to be in Sirmione. The whole town – from the castle to the ruins – is like a dream. How does a place like this even exist? It is stunning (and very crowded). Whenever I find a place to go, I must find the best place to stay. Sometimes, hotels are a total missed opportunity and sometimes they are something unforgettable. Villa Cortine is absolutely unforgettable. Just like the town of Sirmione, Villa Cortine is an idyllic dream and at times is so beautiful, it doesn’t seem like you’re in reality. And that’s a good thing! Our driver pulled up to the gates and got out to buzz the front desk to let us in. After having come from the madness in town, I was thrilled to see that the hotel is gated and very secure. It is quiet, serene and oh so gorgeous. When the gates opened, we drove up a driveway full of statues, fountains and lush landscaping. It felt like we were invited to stay with royalty! Upon arriving at the front door at the top of the hill, we go out were met by reception with a very big smile. In the background was an endless view of cypress trees, palms and the lake. We were taken right up to our room, a Junior Suite with lake view. The hotel’s interior is flawless. Very clean and very ornate, especially the original villa side. Our suite was at the end of the modern wing on a corner with many windows. The Murano glass, wood floors and marble accents throughout the room were over the top; I loved coming back to this room every night. Spending a day at the hotel is a wise investment. You can explore the gardens, lounge at the pool, enjoy the beach restaurant and private pier, or relax in the beautiful bar with a spritz and enjoy a book. We really liked the massive breakfast spread each morning and dining outside with the lake view. It was the perfect way to start our day. We even ended each day with cocktails in the bar – either inside or on the villa terrace. These are such grand spaces and worth your time to enjoy. Now for my rating. Why only four stars might you ask? First off, the air conditioning isn’t very good and you can’t open the windows due to mosquitos. We had some hot nights. Let me tell you, after a Michelin-star meal and several cocktails, the last thing you want is a moderately conditioned room. Second, we received amazing service from the gentlemen in the bar each night – those young guys deserve to be acknowledged for a job well done. Compared to them, a couple of the concierge team came across a little cold. Considering the surroundings and price of this lovely hotel, it would be wise to ensure consistencies in service received from the staff. Overall, Villa Cortine is a real treat. My small critiques aside, it’s worth booking and worth a return visit.
Beautiful in Garda
A treat for an anniversary: a superior room with lake view. The hotel is approached, after driving through the winding streets of Sirmione, by an impressive set of iron gates. A winding path through beautiful gardens brings you to the entrance. Reception is unobtrusive and we were escorted to the room and everything was explained. The bed was huge with linen and towels replaced every day as were the gorgeous toiletries. The balcony was perfect for a drink before dinner while watching the sunset. Breakfast was eaten in the garden restaurant and a huge array of food was available from the buffet as well as cooked item to order. Bubbles for breakfast was a novelty. Dinner could be had in either one of the three restaurants: two outside. The pool was amazing and drinks and snacks were on offer. For serious sun-worshippers a deck in the lake was a innovative idea. The grill restaurant was a few steps away. This is a lovely place to stay.
