Perfect stay once again
Having stayed at the hotel several times, this stay definitely felt like coming back home. The check-in went smoothly after the warmest welcome and an immediate access to our room. We love “our” room 465 and were pleasantly surprised by the views of the pool. A bouquet of roses, sweet delectables and a welcome back message was a nice touch. Everyone is just so friendly, attentive and wonderful. Great to meet Zohaib, sales account manager and being invited to the new property opening in Bangalore. A few staff who made our stay special was Parnab at breakfast, he’s friendly, warm and ever so attentive, surprised us with an array of breakfast items on one morning. Abhishek Sharma from front desk was always helpful and went to lengths to meet our needs. Not only did he upgrade us to the cosiest room but also allowing us a free late check-out as we had an evening flight back to London. Although we stayed 9 nights, it felt too short. Cannot wait for our next stay! Rehana Ali and family
Staycation for 2 nights and 3 days
Courtesy my daughter, we were booked for a staycation, meaning staying in a hotel located in the same city of residence. For my wife and I, it was a first time experience of this sort. However it was a great change of scene for us. The Hotel Leela which is built on the style of the old palaces of India, truly majestic in design, treated us like royalty. From the first "point of contact" at the reception to the last point, every member of the staff served us with a "genuine" smile, which is rare. The smile is always there in all hotels, but the genuineness of it is rare. The staff exceeded our expectations. During my professional career as a consultant and on vacation, I have travelled and stayed in some of the best hotels in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, South East Asia and India, but the level of care and service given by Leela topped all of them. I commend the leadership of the Leela Bangalore and the complete staff for excelling in their profession.
Fell In Love All Over Again
This was my 5th or 6th stay at this particular property, and enjoyed a twin room with club privileges. Farzana Ali runs a tight ship - every T crossed, every I dotted. Frankly, she invented new letters to add to the alphabet and crossed and dotted those, too. She was especially attentive, accommodating and kind. The facilities are pristine, and some really elegant improvements have been made to the garden. The food is quite good, and service is consistent, prompt, and second-to-none. Price point on food and beverage is appropriate for the class of the property. Thus far, every convenience is provided and every customization is executed. And if I were to nitpick.... 1. Perhaps we should advise guests in some way of the timing of the daily mosquito treatments. I'd settled in quite nicely in the atrium, but had to vacate temporarily for the treatment. The transition was smooth and the Library Bar is the farthest cry from a torture chamber, but cigar time was cut short. 2. I'm a Platinum member, and as so, I receive space-available upgrades. Every year, I've been upgraded. Note that one can be upgraded Deluxe> Conservatory, Conservatory>Royal and Royal>Club. The buck stops there - the upgrades do not apply to suites. If there is a suite available the guest has booked Club already, I don't see why this customer retention opportunity is not seized. It would certainly increase the value of the membership and better encourage guests to retain it. That being said, I'm running back to this slice of heaven in a matter of days.
Oasis in the city
The Leela Palace is a beautiful property surrounded by the grit, traffic and chaos of Bangalore. But you would never know it once you drive through the gates of the hotel. The staff is amazing. I would like to see more women employees though. The level of service is impeccable and they were wonderful about a late check-out. I can't help but wonder though if that means they are not getting enough business...
Level of service and comfort is very high
This was our third stop during a trip to India, and the Leela ranks very highly as a luxury hotel. The room was fairly spacious and the staff were amazing. We enjoyed dining onsite for breakfast and a few lunches as the food was well prepared and there were lots of choices. My only editorial comment is that the design of the hotel is a modern simulation of the past, which feels a bit Los Vegas rather than "real" India. That said, what's done here is done well, so no complaints.
