Benchmark setting hospitality!
Beautiful property, tastefully decorated room, tranquil environment, all of them are more than what one would expect from a place like this. But to be treated and feel like royalty - it has to be experienced. The team at Udaivilas will ensure that it will be a memorable experience. They are the best! Special shout out to the chefs too, for a some finger licking yummy food. Anyone wanting to experience the Indian hospitality they have read about, they should definitely come here. Thanks for making it so wonderful and memorable for the family!

Amazing dining experience.
We the Palkhiwala family want to appreciate the warm hospitality extended to us at Udaivilas palace. Our entire experience was made memorable by the special efforts put in by the chef Mr Prashant kumar. All the cuisines that we tried were very authentic & the personalised service has motivated us for a repeat trip.
Exceptional Service & Personal Attention
The Oberoi is synonymous with top-notch service. And The Udaivilas was no exception. On a recent family vacation, we were craving some authentic regional cuisine and could not find the right offerings in and around town. So I spoke with Chef Prashant. He came up with a well rounded menu that was not part of the al-la-carte. It included local produce that was specifically sourced that very same day (fresh fish from the lake too!), and he went on to craft some standout traditional Rajasthani offerings. The meal was amazing and so was the setting which the housekeeping staff organised deftly. Kudos to Prashant, the entire team and to Amit, the General Manager, for an amazing stay, personal care and attention. It's the people that make this organisation great!
Great Property, Poor Service
We have been to Udaipur multiple times over the years and were eager to stay at the Udaivilas for the first time, as we had stayed at other five star properties earlier. We expected nothing but the best hospitality from Oberoi. First impression of the property was great as it was vast and the rooms were really nice. 1. The vegetarian food was not upto the mark but the non veg food was better (not great). Only I was the meat eater our of the 5 of us. We had two meals on the first day and realized that the all the meals were too salty. This could be just us and our tastebuds but it wouldn't feel like that for every food item that we at. We gave our honest feedback multiple times but in the end it was the same. We had no choice but to go to the Leela or Trident next door for some of our meals over the next two days. 2. We had our 1 year old son with us and needed to have his meals cooked (we had carried the meals from home but just needed to be cooked by the hotel chef. We had also informed this prior to our arrival). They obliged by doing the needful. However, we did require something for the other in the room for him and in our experience, unless we didn't call up twice, the items were not delivered. This happened every single time and took ages to be delivered. These requests weren't anything out of the ordinary either. 3. Housekeeping did a good job of cleaning up the rooms daily (as expected in any decent hotel), but they didn't replenish the amenities even a single time. For example, a bottle of body lotion was misplaced by our son in the room but they didn't even replace that. On the second day, my wife had used the shower cap. While cleaning the room, they trashed the used cap, but didn't put a new one. I felt this was really disappointing on the service of an Oberoi hotel. This is the basic level of service that is expected of even a four star property. No idea why this was the case. 4. Breakfast was good but as with other meals, the waiters were messing up in spite of having them repeat the same while taking the orders. We got wrong items on multiple occasions which had to be sent back and replaced. Had to wait more than 45 minutes to an hour for some parts of the meal. The dining experience was underwhelming as all of us are big foodies and food is one of the major aspects for us when we travel. Till the second day, we gave the benefit of doubt to the service due to the Covid situation, but it really was something else. By the end of it, it didn't feel like we stayed at one of the best rated hotels in India. We have had better experiences at the Leela or the Trident during our past stays. Sure the staff were courteous but that doesn't mean anything until it shows in the level of service provided.
