A hidden gem
A hotel in a beautiful setting where we felt very honoured to have stayed. The room was extremely well appointed with a very comfortable bed and well stocked bathroom. Excellent food with a good choice. The hotel is able to arrange a large variety of activities including a very memorable dinner taken by bullock cart to a magical step well lit by candles, oil lamps and warmed by fire pits. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. We were also taken on a guided walk round the village going into locals houses. Another memorable experience was the jeep drive with an experienced ranger who was determined we should see a leopard and we were rewarded. Thank you.
A gem of a hotel in a small village. The Rawla is a beautiful hotel, I stayed in one of the heritage rooms, just incredible architecture and comfort. I did not have a view from my window but didn't even notice tbh. Breakfast is buffet style with so much choice. In the evenings the restaurant is open air rooftop with such a lovely atmosphere. I was a solo traveller but felt at complete ease eating there, even though it was so romantic! I experienced Holi colour festival here on 10th March and felt quite safe walking around the village and got truly 'Holied'! The hotel also took us to the local 'morris dancing' event one afternoon which is part of Holi, such a total honour to be part of their festival. They offer some complimentary services, such as a walk into village, a walk up Elephant rock - which I did at sunrise - the best ever! Lovely pool to relax in. Highly recommend this hotel. It was great to relax for three days after a very crazy tour of Rajasthan.
Relaxing, fun, unusual - highly recommended
We loved our stay at Narlai .. exceptionally nice staff & guides .. good food and comfortable with fun wildlife. Great ambiance. Meeting villagers and seeing behind the scenes in their homes and farms etc was a great experience for us.
Lovely place and wildlife
This is a very lovely place. We had great accommodation, excellent food and great hospitality. Furthermore, we had an excellent tour, with very knowledgable and informative guides, to find and follow a leopard in the wild. A rare treat!
A wonderful hotel/homestay with great character
We visited this hotel as part of a package arranged by Mysteries of India, whom I cannot praise too highly. We had two nights there and wished it could be more. We had a splendid heritage room with a very comfortable bed and delightful furnishings. The Holi festival week was just finishing the second day and we saw and took part in a real Hindu celebration with drums singing and dancing. BUT the highlight of the stay, and not to be missed, was the Stepwell Dinner. Being taken there on the back of a bullock cart at night away from the village, arriving at a magical stepwell full of hundreds of candles and a lone singer playing something like a sitar, was an experience I shall never forget. I cannot recommend this enough!
