Retreat among nature and tranquility with great hospitality
Chhatra Sagar is perfect calm and serene retreat in the wild. You feel so close to nature and perfect place to feel sunrise and sunset. They have luxury tents equipped with all facilities. The village tour and bird watching tours are highlight of my stay. Food served is fresh and home cooked. Dining is special experience having it viewing the lake or under open sky and bonfire. It was really awesome break from hectic life and relaxing with nature. One can easily spot deers and peacocks roaming around. It is totally unique experience and enjoying the rural life of India. It gets it name from the lake called Chhatra Sagar named after Thakur Chhatra Singh of Nimaj and all rooms are lake facing.
I don't as a rule do tents but Chhatra Sagar is very special. I absolutely loved it here and wished I could have stayed an extra night. Very luxurious, comfortable, the best beds and linen, fantastic hospitality and an amazing view - utterly perfect in every way.
Glamping at Chahtra Sagar
For us, this place is perfect: 5 star accommodation, scenic beauty, food and service, not experienced anywhere on our trip to India. Highly recommended. Once the reservation has been paid for, no tipping, unlimited food and drinks and extremely gracious hosts, two brothers and a cousin.
Highlight of our Honeymoon
We spent two nights at the wonderful Chhatra Sagar and didn't want to leave! The absolute highlight of our Rajasthan holiday. We couldn't fault a thing; the family who own and run the place were charming, warm and so knowledgeable. This was especially evident during the activities, which we didn't have much prior knowledge about but were blown away on both excursions. The nature walk was gentle and informative, culminating with a fantastic pop-up bar (a perfect G&T) and sunset. The village tour was also eye-opening. We learnt so much about the local culture, politics, family and geography, but it was done in a very easy, natural way, dependent on how interested the group were as opposed to being forced information. The food was outstanding, particularly our arrival lunch which was the best meal of our whole trip. We loved the service which was seamless but not intrusive. We were lucky enough to be in one of the tents at the top of the hill which had the most stunning views, especially at sunset. Tents were beautifully appointed, very pretty and the fresh flowers, hot water bottles at night and hot chai morning deliveries made it memorable and comfortable. Lastly, it was so enjoyable to meet new people and congregate at the campfire at night. Maybe we were lucky with other guests but there was a real sense of camaraderie and for people who usually keep ourselves to ourselves, this was a surprise highlight and testament to the family atmosphere created so effortlessly by the owners. Thank you again and hope to return in the future.
Rare find and wonderful experience
Truly wonderful stay from arrival to departure. Top service, excellent food and all home cooked from fresh, rare experience of staying in a 5 star luxury tent on a historic dam. Enjoyable bird watching and will not forget arriving to a spectacular view and the sound of peace and silence.
