This is a lovely property - 33 acres with scattered villas. The pool area is great and it was nice to just be able to walk around in vegetated areas that were quiet. It is easy to get lost - but I always managed to find my way back to the lobby building. The villas are great, very large with a spacious bathroom and separate closet/dressing area. The staff is wonderful, as is true at all of the Oberoi Hotels!
Wonderful Raj Villas
After a short visit to Amarvillas, Rajvillas was our second trip to a Oberoi hotel. The beautiful property with colourful bougenville, pink lotus, dancing peacocks , bright blue swimming pool & lots of pigeons was an absolute delight . The staff working in the garden was amazingly courteous & their warm greeting touched the heart. The hotel staff was awesome & always ready to help. Mr Ankush Mahajan had ensured that everything was perfectly arranged. Dinner was served at our convenience even though we were a little late. The food was delicious. The menu was carefully selected. Extra points to the chef for the delicious mutton & traditional kadi-Kachori. Clean and pure environment added to the charm of the property. Away from the maddening crowd & traffic chaos the property is worth visiting. Thanks team Rajvillas for a memorable stay
A Royal Oasis
This was our third visit to The Oberoi Rajvilas. We were promptly picked up by our chauffeur Mr. Surendra Singh who was very obliging, and on our request took us first to the famous Lassiwalla at MI Road before driving us to the resort. Upon reaching the Resort, we received a warm and traditional welcome from the General Manager Mr. Ankush Mahajan and his team. Mr. Mahajan is one of the most approachable and helpful General Manager that we have come across. We remember how Mr. Mahajan had obliged us during our first interaction with him in May 2018 at The Wildflower Hall, Shimla. But nothing could have prepared us for the surprises that he had planned for our daughter's Birthday Celebration! She expected that her room would be decorated with balloons and a birthday cake, but she was thrilled to see the lovely decorations that were done for her in the lobby area and we were all smiles when Mr. Mahajan and his team sang Happy Birthday while our daughter cut her cake! Then came the BIG...BIGGER...BIGGEST SURPRISE! Somehow Mr. Mahajan had followed that she loves playing in the pool so, for her birthday he had upgraded us to the Villa with a private pool. Our little girl could not have wished for anything better to celebrate her Birthday! This is the best gift that she has got this year. The staff kept her well occupied all day with activities like block printing, pottery, cookie baking, junior mixologist, bangle making. She enjoyed innumerable buggy rides & the puppet show. The scrapbook that was gifted to her by Ms. Ritu and her team will be cherished by her for a long time. As always the evening entertainment program during dinner at both Suryamahal & Rajmahal were very interactive and we enjoyed dancing to the folk music. The spontaneous floating lantern lighting at Rajmahal is a beautiful memory Due to an emergency I had to return home a day earlier. However I could leave my wife and daughter at The Oberoi Rajvilas since I knew that Mr. Mahajan and his team would take good care of them. The team at Rajvilas could anticipate and fulfil every wish before it was made. Special thanks to Ritu, Rittika, Nitin, Sumit, Dharam from housekeeping, Ashwini, Sanjit, Deepak, Milan for long buggy rides, Ugain and Ballu for pampering us at the poolside and Deepak from in room dining for all the care and special attention. We are eagerly awaiting our next visit to this Royal Oasis!
Great Hotel, Location OK
Hotel is very nice, but I'm not convinced about the location. it is far from most of the sites and not in a nice area. For location I would chose the Rambagh Palace. Welcome was great and grounds are very nice, traveled with my family and got to experience many different room, levels, from standard rooms to tents and private pool villas. All were nice and spacious. Tents were a different experience and the private pool villas were super comfortable to hang out in. Each had 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen pantry, as well as living and dining areas. I was surprised there was no ATM on property because of the isolated location. Food at breakfast and room service were great. Eating outdoors while listening to music and dance was also a great experience. Having been to both Rambagh Palace and Rajvilas I think i would choose the Rambagh for location but the Rajvilas for everything else. Note that pollution is a bit better than Dekhi but not by much, India needs to get its act together before I'll go back or recommending someone else to visit.
We just loved the experience - right from menu options, food quality, portion and hospitality- Oberoi team knows how to set them class apart. We loved Dahi Bhalla, Oriental Salad and Gnocchi. Coffee menu is a pleasant cherry on the top - loved the Jamaican coffee. And we loved Avantika Kalra and Amit Negi!!
