RAMBAGH DEFINES ROYALTY
Few days back on 14th March 2020, I was here for Hi-Tea in Verandah Cafe. It was really a nice experience. The service was also great. I was escorted by Mr. Nikhil Sinha who showed me the palace around. He was very passionate about the place and told the history of the palace. The knowledge he had about the palace , I mean the history and everything was commendable. The palace was built by Sawai Mansingh and is been wonderfully maintained till date. The beauty of Suvarna Mahal was speechless. I was amazed to see the beauty of this Palace. It was very nice visit to the palace. Thanks to Nikhil for escorting me and telling the beauty and history of palace. Had a wonderful day.
The only hotel in the world with its own polo field!
The maharajah’s train has been converted into a restaurant; the opulent surroundings providing the perfect location for a light inexpensive lunch. This former palace has extensive grounds and a tour of the building, in particular the polo bar and the dining rooms is a must, if you have time.
The Wonderful Mr. Singh
As dinner guests at Steam restaurant, Assistant Restaurant Manager Mr. Magan Singh was our devoted and gracious host. Professional, kind and diligent Mr. Singh quickly helped us be seated in one of the train’s coaches and thoughtfully check-in with our table through out the dinner. Such rigorous 5-star service was to be expected, yet Mr. Singh set our experience apart by making us feel truly cared for. He listened to our interest in learning more about the Palace and guided us on a private tour of the hotel’s other restaurants and public spaces. At each restaurant he asked the host for permission to enter — as Assistant Restaurant Manager he surely did not have to, yet this beautifully demonstrates Mr. Singh’s respect for his colleagues. Each host graciously accepted, illustrating their clear respect for him. It is not often in luxury hospitality that you come across genuine, remarkable staff who truly care for their guests. Mr. Singh is a glowing example and I will be returning to stay at the Rambagh Palace solely to visit Mr. Singh again.
