An excellent tea
We came here for high tea and it was wonderful. The variety was outstanding and the service was great. Loved the music during the tea.
Excellent to make your special day memorable
HI, y'day we went to Sea Launge at Taj Mahal Palace for High Tea in afternoon. We reached 3.15 at Taj mahal palace. Security checks were thorough & peacefully by smiling staff members. We did table booked 3 days ago, if you are planning to then should do this. We clicked few pics in lobby and at ground floor. Its beautiful Palace, family loved clicking pics. King style steps towards first floor is good for few clicks too. Then we entered Sea Lauge on first floor at 3.35pm. Restaurant manager welcomed us, as we had booked table he had arranged table already. Sea view window facing tables are for 2 guests only, as we were 4 taken bigger table slighly away from window. But that was not problem, as kids(14 yrs and 9 yrs) were more interested to enjoy live music and hotel interiors. We opted for Veg High tea, it was lovely food pao bhaji, pani puri, chat, muffins, few on the table service items like strawberry, cakes, cookies etc. We enjoyed it good time, spent 1.5hrs around 5-5.15pm were done with our tea. Thanks Mr.Kelvin & staff for excellent service and we enjoyed out high tea. While paying bill It was pleasunt surprise that my under kid was discounted in the bill. While coming out too, again took few pics enjoyed The Taj hospitality. There are few testimonies frames and comments for celebrities, Presidents of diff countries about their rich experience in Taj Mahal Palace. I would strongly recommend family to visit Sea Launge for High tea, its great experience to enjoy special hospitality of Taj. After Taj we went to Marine drive, spent quality time with family and went home back with happy memories.
One of the more relaxing restaurants for breakfast at Taj
One of the more relaxing restaurants at the Taj Palace. I did not find it by choice, it was because the restaurant offering buffet breakfast had an enormous wait / queue on both mornings so we went to this restaurant. I was surprised - less choice but an adequate light buffet and mains to order. So stylish - typically Taj. Great views over Apollo Bunder, and of the Gateway. Comfortable seating and great ambiance. Two very enjoyable breakfasts - thank you so much. Highly recommended and hope to be back soon.
Great 'high tea' in best English tradition
Beautiful setting with views over the sea and Gateway to India monument. Hi tea is between 3.00 and 6.30 and is ideal for anyone that does NOT then want to have an evening meal! The choice is amazing- home made chocolates, pastries, sandwiches and 'meals' and beautifully presented. The 'live' pianist playing as we ate added a sense of special occasion to the meal. Cost is about £45 per person, but that includes sparkling wine
Relaxing with a beautiful view
We came here for a drink after finishing a walking tour at the Gateway of India and it was the perfect finish to the day. I got the lime soda which was sweet and refreshing. Service was a little slow. Views from the windows are beautiful but window seating is limited - we sat away from the windows but even the general vibe of the room is pretty and relaxing.
