Monkeying around in Mumbai!
This hotel is a wonderful place! Its like a peaceful, comfortable oasis in the middle of a big bustling city! The staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. I witnessed a member of the male staff dealing expertly with a very upset lady, who he calmed down and sorted out her problems. The rooms, facilities, food and surroundings were all lovely and the security was taken very seriously. I was bitten by a monkey when visiting the National Park and the Manager and staff were all lined up to greet me upon my return from the hospital to ensure I was ok. Our onward flights were cancelled by the airline, so the concierge x 2 were very helpful and helped us rebook our journey. I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone. The only criticism I have was that the cleaning staff threw away my newspaper. It was out of date but I was doing the crossword! It was a great experience to be there and to share some time and a laugh with the staff members. Well done to all of them.
Excellent stay in Mumbai
Had a very relaxing stay here. The rooms were great as were the facilities. The Leela is right next to the airport but you wouldn't know that walking around the grounds, which are very quiet and well maintained. Good value but worth noting it's a fair distance from the main sights of Mumbai
Good location and very helpful staff
The room was modern and the bathroom comfortable. The Hotel is very near the airport, which is important if you have a morning flight (taking into account the traffic in Mumbai!) Breakfast and dinner were ok. Nothing especial. However, the help from the staff was great. In the evening they helped us with our flight reservations. The following morning, once we had left the hotel and had entered the airport, with all the rush of an international flight, my husband realized he had forgotten his backpack in the room. At first we could not communicate with the hotel because the lines were busy, but suddenly I received a call from the hotel. Our driver was able to get the backpack for us and nothing was missing! We appreciate all the staff being so helpful in a stressful situation.
Great hotel, poor FOH staff!
Just returned from a 2 week break to India. Flying into Mumbai I had booked the Leela based on its reviews and location. My initial experience at check in was awful. After almost 20 hours of travelling I just wanted to check in and go to my room. I had booked 2 rooms, one for me and one for my father. The girl at Reception who checked us in was very unprofessional. It took almost 40 mins for us to check in. I told her we had 2 rooms and she only gave me one? Then finally when I showed her my booking she went on to look at her computer screen again. No apology nothing! She then proceeded to take a pre-auth amount of 5,000 which is totally understandable. She had not explained that we didn’t need to pay for incidentals and could close our account down. She was very keen on demanding the money. I asked her if we could pay upfront for both rooms and incidentals on one room and once I had been up and opened my bags to sort the money out and come back down to clear payment. She was most stubborn and refused to let us have the key until we had paid upfront. I pleaded with her as long journey that I just wanted to go to my room, take a shower and sort my money out. Can I just say how unprofessional it looks when they are on the phone to the people who sit across on the desk from them while they whisper? What is the need of this? This is not how my first initial experience should be! First impressions last. Please send your staff on customer service training. Especially the girls who lack in professionalism and whisper to their colleagues about you. My room was lovely although there were lots of hairs in the bathroom and in the drawer where the hair dryer is. I found the gentleman who looked after the block of bedrooms to be quite intrusive and nosey. Maybe this is a culture thing but just felt stared at Everytime I went to my room. The staff at Citrus were wonderful. They were all so very helpful and engaging. Maybe the front office girls need to spend some time with them. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The pool was a lovely area and the attendants were good. After 2 days we had checked out to go to Gujarat. I had made a booking 2 weeks later upon our arrival back to Mumbai as we were flying back to London. Due to Coronavirus, we had to change our plans. I tried to amend my booking to arrive one day early which it didn’t let me do. So I just made a separate booking for one night. This was stressful time for us not knowing if we would be able to get back home due to the travel ban. We arrived back into Mumbai on 17th. Check in was a bit better with the boy on the desk. I explained that I had another booking for tomorrow on a separate one and ensured we would not need to change rooms. He said this was fine. He didn’t even take any payment from us, didn’t even ask for payment of the accommodation let alone incidental charge unlike the girl on the desk when we arrived on the 7th! I confirmed that we would pay upon departure and he said was fine. The next day they stared chasing us out of the bedroom saying we had not checked out and disabled my dads key. I went down and explained we were on another booking which I confirmed the day before. He said he could not find my booking! What kind of joke was this. I said I was already an in-house guest. Kept saying I had cancelled which I hadn’t. Again showed my phone. Suddenly he found it and no apology just ignorance. This experience upset me as we were already worried about the virus outbreak and by this tome visas had stopped and we needed to get home. There was no understanding or empathy by these staff again looking so silly phoning people across the desk. Mr Sud, I work in this industry in the UK and I strongly urge you to look at how these staff interact with your customers who are checking in and this is their initial experience. This leaves sour taste.
Three days we stayed here. Near to T2 airport. Rooms r huge with excellent service, yum food and courteous staff. The best unique thing about this hotel is, small small chit notes are sent, in the food tray, really displaying their care. I enjoyed my stay here.
