Nice vintage hotel with great location with loads of restaurants/ sight seeings nearby! Hotel services ok... but since the area is very busy at night and famous, do not expect to have a quiet sleep as it is quite noisy with the road hornings around.
Excellent location, room disappointing
The hotel website does a very good good job of making the best of the Abode. A quirky hotel with a dark entrance on a busy street which had me a bit worried to begin with. Location is excellent, very close to the Gateway of India. The room was clean with a tiled floor and a view out over the street which was fascinating to watch. No wardrobe, just hooks for clothes. The shower room was very cramped with cement walls and a narrow shower. This was classed as a luxury room so we were a bit disappointed. Interesting breakfast selection, though a bit limited, including local dishes such as idli. Fried eggs on toast, pineapple juice and coffee were good, though we didn't like the metal cups - they get too hot. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Tours organised by the hotel were excellent, including an early morning tour of the city and a street food tour.
Tranquil bliss in the heart of Mumbai
We arrived at midnight at The Abode and were welcomed with a hot coffee and cookies. The staff made us feel more than welcome, the room was a perfect little retreat in this dazzling and buzzing city. We took the early morning market tour (absolute recommend this one) and the Dharavi tour on different days, both perfectly organized by the hotel. Lovely breakfast and the staff is absolutely amazing!
Perfect Mumbai retreat with amazing staff
We stayed at Abode for a few days whilst having a city fix in Mumbai. Love the small cozy feel and super stylish interior design. They have great attention to detail. There were no rooms available with an ensuite bathroom but it wasn't really a problem to use the shared toilets. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff are always amazing and will go out of their way to help you with anything you need. Perfect location for wandering around and really close to fantastic restaurants, both local eateries and upmarket.
Beautiful little boutique hotel with homely welcoming staff
We stayed at one of the Luxury rooms that has its own dedicated bathroom. The place has a very distinct artsy character. Combining victorian colonial elements with modern hipsterness. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. But above all, it's the staff that makes the difference. Incredibly friendly, great people that will go out of their way to make your stay in Mumbai as good as it gets. The location is perfect, smack in the middle of Colaba, walking distance from the Gateway to India and the Taj hotel landmarks. I can't recommend the place enough. If you are looking for a more personal yet modern experience in Mumbai don't go to Taj, go to Abode.
