A homely resort with a stunning location
Location is stunning. With a stretch of undisturbed patch of ‘Marari Beach’ that makes an excellent background and gives way to, too many extraordinary memories. You enter the resort with an ordinary expectation and leave with the grandeur of signature experiences that are synonymous with a CGH unit. A true marvel, tucked away from all the commercials that daunt a regular beach resort. The entrance is regular and by the time you hit the reception, you are well aware of the history of this resort. We got ourselves a villa, just shy of 200 mts from the beach. A typical villa along the beach with an open air washroom set up. The hygiene and sanitization of the place was good, just what you would expect from a hotel during this pandemic situation. The food was good and the sea food was as fresh as it could be. We enjoyed our session by the Shack Bar, and the bartender was excellent. Overall, a lovely experience. Suitable for all age groups including families with infants
Great Room, food could be much improved
We stayed in mid December. We had a fantastic deluxe room with pool, the pool and garden were large and well looked after and the room was very large with a separate room for the kids to sleep in. I loved the outdoor shower room too, which could also be accessed from the garden and pool. These were secluded and private. The food however I would expect to be better from a resort such as this. We were bored after the second day. We stayed 4 nights, and every night, the offering from the grill was the same - Mahi Mahi. It was tasty, but boring every night. We also had the same curries served several nights running on the buffet. The a la carte food was nice, but not an extensive menu. The fun usually of a buffet is the choice and variety and this was lacking. Kids weren't well catered for, due to limited non spicy options, so they ate plain mahi mahi and rice every night! Breakfast was poor for a 5 star hotel. The dosa were delicious, but otherwise choice was pretty limited. Even pancakes and french toast were not cooked fresh, but left to sit warm in a pot. The croissants were small, dry, stale bready affairs, nowhere near what a croissant should taste like. The beach shack did some decent food, but more like snack food.
Nice location to spend the day as a visitor. We were able to use the facilities for a fee paid at the reception. The tea cart which came around in the afternoon was a real treat serving chai, cakes and other sweets all part of the day to day service. The pool was lovely and not very busy, which was nice for a lazy afternoon
We stayed two nights at the Marari Beach resort and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was at the last leg of a six day vacation with CGH Earth, earlier being Brunson Boatyard and Coconut Lagoon. Individually and as a family we enjoyed Marari Beach resort the most. The food is delicious, property is beautiful and the service is excellent. My daughter got sand in her eye, that was causing some pain and discomfort. Mrs Shelby the Executive Housekeeper supported us in purchasing the eyedrops that were not available in the nearest town and sent someone to another town, finally obtaining them in a third town. We were really grateful for this; as tourists who don’t speak the language it would have been very difficult for us. Please convey our appreciation to her and the entire staff, we found them warm, professional and will be back soon!
We a family of three (my husband, my daughter and me) were visiting this lush green, wonderful property for the third time! It is always nice to be here. The private pool villas specifically are just the perfect way to relax! And ofcourse the clean beach. This time we could also get our hands on vegan food (pizza and falafel) which made our stay a happy one! I would just have one suggestion to the management of the hotel, to have more vegan options..(ps: other than hummus, vegans eat a lot more😁) Would request the chef to include more vegan delights! Other than that this place is a real paradise!❤️ Hope to return soon 🙏🏾 and also hoping to find more vegan food!
