Stayed here for 7 nights after touring for 12 nights, and what a joy it was. Difficult to find fault or make suggestions for improvement. We were on half board terms, but twice had a la carte at no extra cost, thanks to the restaurant manager. We also paid for one meal at the beach restaurant, which was very good indeed. The whole environment is quite simply totally relaxing. There are things you can choose to do each day if you wish which fill up your time, such as a walk around the village, or round the butterfly garden, etc. The pool is great or you can swim in the sea, although beware of getting hit by the odd large wave, as a few people including myself did. Lost my sunglasses as a result but was my fault! The villas are discreetly spaced out so they feel very private, and the whole resort feels spacious and quiet. There is traditional music in the dining area every evening, however if you are looking to make new friends over drinks in the bar then this is probably not the place for you. There is a nice bar but people tend not to use it, retreating instead to their villas after dinner. This is a truly relaxing environment, with first class staff and food. We have been to other resorts in Kerala but this is the one we will definitely return to whenever we come again.
The perfect chill out
We arrived at Marari as stop 8 of 9 on our month long tour of India. We had planned it as a few days of relaxation after travelling and sight seeing. It turned out to be perfect. The property is large in beautifully kept gardens. Each guest has an individual villa and we were lucky enough to have our own pool. The villa is very well appointed and the (locally) traditional bathroom with an open rain shower in addition to all modern mod cons was great. Shame in a way it didn’t rain! The staff were fantastic and again nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent with two restaurants to choose from, both in delightful settings and serving great local seafood and speciality dishes. The nature walks are great and the environmental “back of house” tour showing the recycling, water saving and energy programmes was fascinating. The investment in this by the CGH Group is clear and to be applauded. They really “walked the talk”. The beach is huge but to be honest we preferred the gardens and hotel amenities. This a a great hotel and if you go this way (perhaps after a house boat trip) put it on your itinerary.
Stunning resort - very difficult to fault!
A thoroughly wonderful three day stay. Excellent very clean rooms, amazing staff and very enjoyable programme of activities here - daily meditation, gorgeous afternoon tea, excellent nature walks. Definitely will return if I come to Kerala again
1st class holiday experience
After a hectic tour of India we had 6 nights to relax in the Marari beach hotel. Beautiful location with amazing pool. Definitely recommend the dining experience with Sony the most amazing chef. Please visit the butterfly garden with Vishnu, he is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, a real added bonus to the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they are always happy, smiling and helpful. Only issue we had was no nice bar areas in the evening, but other than that would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to visit again.
Perfect place to relax at the end of a tour
With only 12 days in Kerela we only had one night at Marari beach (but two full days) We would love to have stayed longer. Don't usually go for resorts, but this really is a lovely resort, so much to see and do and plenty of beautiful grounds and gardens to loose yourself in for some quiet relaxation. Really loved the ayurvedic massage, enjoyed the butterfly and bird walk and so impressed the attention to the environment. Beach clean, sea warm and while we were there so few people around, perfect! Good breakfast, delicious fruit cocktails, delicious cuisine. Clean, fresh cottage. All in all a real delight.
