A beautiful change from city life.
It was a wonderful decision to stay at taj madekeri. The resort was really beautiful and different from other resorts in Madekeri. It had beautiful views and layout. The staff at the resort were really welcoming, warm and accommodating. The rooms had a beautiful view and were really well heated. The warm water and food was refreshing at the restaurants. There are many activities to choose from like the Nishani hike, kayaking and rainforest walk. Would recommend it to people who want peace and quiet and to be with nature.
A True Nature Resort
This Taj resort makes it a point to respect nature. Not a tree is felled, nor ornamental plants imported from elsewhere which are not native to the Coorg hills. There are no bright lights, no canned music. Nothing disturbs the silence that fills the valley in which the hotel is located. The hotel has only villas - from one bedroom to three bedrooms. We stayed at a huge 3000 sq ft. one-bedroom pool villa. The heated swimming pool located in the centre of the villa had views of the small lake below, and the glass roof over the pool displayed the passing clouds and rain. Each room had floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and the scenes of rolling mists through the luxuriant rain forests that surrounded the villa was unforgettable. The Fern Tree restaurant served an excellent buffet breakfast. The dinner also consisted of huge portions. The Chef Soumyadeep cooked for us a Bengali fish curry, using a sweet water fish. I will long remember its flavours. The reception was manned by two or three young ladies - their names escape me now - but it was their warmth and helpful nature that made our stay memorable. There is a tiny, but excellent museum in the resort which shows the history of Coorg. Its worth the visit.
Stay at Taj Madikeri
Location: Excellent. A road which connects the entire property is very good for walks, however it's very dimly lit. Stay: Comfortable. Rooms are very spacious with excellent view. Our room had few cobwebs which were not cleaned properly. Food: Very good. More variety is reqd for morning breakfast. Spa services: Excellent.
This was our second stay at Taj Madikeri after 2014. The place is as magical as it was way back then...the services and food quality definitely better than the previous visit! This property is a must visit for travellers when they visit Coorg! Its absolutely breathtaking! The view from lobby is surely one of the best in India! The lakeside view with ducks in it was a magical experience as well! The service was attentive. Though as some guests rightly pointed out...breakfast could be better managed. There was lack of staff, buffet refilling took time, fresh bowls placing took time.....so ironing out these little creases will surely give the guests one of the best stay experiences. Thank you team for the lovely in room surprises for my son's birthday! We love coming here and will surely be visiting again soon! Thank you for a memorable stay!
It's one of the best properties in India with exceptional service!
Our stay was one of the most beautiful ones! From checkin to check out - the service, hospitality, food, rooms etc were class apart. Madhu and Ali at checkin and check out were so so sweet and helped us with information. Madhu helped us with the room upgrade and there was nothing more I could ask for my birthday! She even checked on us personally and that we reached back home safely. She also gave a pack of coffee while checkout and was extremely humble and sweet. Rani and Kaushik from room service decorated the room beautifully on my birthday and kept the room neat and clean. Saumyadeep took personal care for all our meals and waived off our dinner as the pita chips were rancid. He arranged cakes for my birthday and also got a dish made out of the menu. The service was outstanding. Nagesh, Rishab, Akshay and Niranjan at the Ferntree and the grill serves us very very well. Nagesh remembered that I loved the oregano buns so he packed some for us at checkout with some cupcakes. Chef Tareek personally check on us and gave us a complimentary soup and dessert. Col Muthanna at the conservatory kept us informed and entertained us while we waited for the buggy in heavy rains. Both the boys at the Muddy boots were very sweet and funny. our experience of ziplining and kayaking was sooo good. The person at Taj khazana from Himachal was also very interactive and helped us to make choices and was very cooperative. One feedback is just on the breakfast that it has to be a little more managed. We had to wait for long outside as the space was mostly full and it took time to clear and prepare the table again. Also the dishes were empty and it took time to refill them. Maybe few more people are required at breakfast. Overall our experience was just amazing! Couldnt have wished for a better birthday. Its heaven on earth. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
