An engagement for all your 5 senses
So this hotel, redefines all parameters in hospitality, in almost every sense. Indeed, a treat for all your 5 senses. The location and beautiful resort is a treat to your eyes. The Head Chef (one of the most passionate chefs that I have recently met) and his culinary brigade, keeps your taste buds engaged, through your stay. The smell reminds you about the ‘backwaters’ of Kerala and the ongoing traffic through the waters of fishing boats keeps you curious of the fresh catch of the day. The entry to the resort is a treat in itself. You are picked up on a boat with your luggage and you enter in style, through the narrow channels of water that lead you to the openness of the Vembanad Lake, and that’s where this beautiful resort sits. The reception and the hospitable staff are very keen to assist, always with a smile. You have the option of choosing a private villa or opting a room in their heritage mansion by the lake. We opted for a private villa, niche, traditional and with all hygiene checks in place. Engagement activities, are enough and more to keep you involved through the day. The F&B setup is modest, but with the most caring staff members which makes it the most memorable part of the stay. Engagement levels of every staff member, from any unit team is outstanding, and we know exactly why. Commitment levels streams downward and with a brief chat with their General Manager, Mr. Shamboo, who shares the same levels of humility and commitment to his guests just like his staff. We knew that it was his reflection that was being amplified through the team. A well planned surprise in the restaurant that the team planned out with perfect execution, left my wife and I, slightly embarrassed on our anniversary, but it was a gesture that we would remember as one of our fondest memories of this resort. This unit is also a treat to person who loves being behind the lenses. Stunning location and the backdrop of the lake makes it ideal for your cameras to come out. The trip on the boat is an absolute must. This extra-ordinary resort will leave you with some most memorable experiences of your life. Thankyou Coconut – Lagoon.
Authentic Kerala Resort with Exceptional Hospitality.
We had a lovely time at coconut Lagoon. You can see the traditional Kerala concept through out the property. Eventhough it's the pandemic period the resort was managed to organize a nice new year eve mixed of cultural activities and some chill out for their guests. A special shout-out to the staffs at the resort, Lekha and sony at the reception Asha at the restaurant and many others ,couldn't recollect everybody's name ,all were exceptionally good. Would love to come back.
Had a peaceful and undisturbed stay amidst the warmth of nature in a very well maintained property and also had sumptuous food three times a day along with the wonderful hospitality of the staff which is really praiseworthy
Less than perfect experience for New Year, but some good things
We stayed at the Coconut Lagoon for the New Year and we had a mixed experience. It had some great parts and some not so good ones. Overall, we would repeat the experience but we would hope for a change in certain senior management or protocols. Some details below. Pros -Some of the staff in the restaurant, such as Asha, were really nice. - Food was overall quite good, specially dessets for us. New Year eve stalls were really nice, specially the seafood options for us. - Room was well clean when we checked in and it looked as in the pics - Check in process was smooth, we were shown to our room quite quickly. -Our checkout on 2nd January, very early, around 5.45 AM, went well in the sense that our boat was waiting for us perfectly on time. Cons -Boat transfer from the dock to the hotel took 20 mins waiting. Eventually, around 8 guests piled up and a second taxi boat was called to service us, leaving our suitcases behind. We think Suvaraj, the organzier that day, could do a better job - After checking in, we had to wait around 25 mins for our suitcases to be delivered to our room. 15 minutes into our wait a strong rain started. - On the 31st December, we were adviced there would be some celebrations in the main restaurant area up until 10 PM, which was fair enoughj, following Kerala's government covid guidance. Surprisingly to us, party, with very loud music went on until around 0.30 AM on 1st January. Most of the people enjoying the music and the dancing, facemask-less, were staff of the hotel. We think this party was not properly targetting the customers staying in this hotel., which most likely seeked a peaceful night. -Checking out process in the early morning of 2nd January was done by a gent who did not wear a facemask, nor did he put it on when mentioned. He also suggested that the tip box by the check out counter was |closed" so we could give him directly the tip. It was a very surprising behaviour (we put the tip inside the box, just in case)
Vintage Kerala experience
We had planned our honeymoon for 2 nights in this beautiful property of CGH Earth and it was the right decision. Watching sunset with your better half while cruising around on the Vembanad lake was an amazing experience. We had the complete privacy there, so it is an ideal location for honeymooners. Inside the property, there were many activities like bird watching and butterfly garden which made us feel closer to the nature. The food was delicious, and the ambience of the resort was awesome. Special kudos to the entire staff of CGH Earth resorts for making our stay memorable. We felt safe at CGH, all safety precautions were taken by the staff, Covid didn’t hamper our special time there. I would recommend this place to everyone.
