Top Notch Accommodation
As you would expect from the Oberoi, everything was top notch. The luxury tents, the food, the evening drinks area, the morning and night entertainers, the staff/service was all first class. You did not want for anything. To top it off, they rescued an elephant called Lakshmi and she lives in her own area with the staff off-site. Every morning around 11am she takes a walk to visit the Oberoi. Guests of the Oberoi can feed and pat her. Apparently the walk is part of her exercise. I would totally recommend the Oberoi if you are after a slice of luxury. Unfortunately I can't comment on the their safari as we did a private one.
Luxury and Service beyond compare!
My parents, wife and I had an absolutely incredible stay in the resort last week. The rooms are beautifully done up and the staff really go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is comfortable. They even arranged a lovely private breakfast for us on the last day specially set up by the poolside. There is plenty to do at the property between the nature walks and the talks by the naturalists. This is of course apart from the brilliant safari experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the resort and look forward to coming back there at some point. Highly recommend The Oberoi for other travellers.
This hotel is spectacular. The tent rooms are gorgeous and luxurious. The food is wonderful. The staff is truly amazing -- they will do anything to make sure you are happy. We went on a hotel-organized private half day safari that was incredible: the national park is beautiful and we did see wild Tigers. I highly recommend this resort.
This is my first review for anything, ever! my husband and I went on a tiger safari with two friends and I felt that I had to say that this hotel, the service, the personal touches and the food was absolutely outstanding!
Tiger tiger burning bright..
Just like the tigers, Oberoi Vanyavilas burns bright and has left me with lifelong memories from my 3 days here. We were met at the train station late in the afternoon and driven the short distance to the hotel. On arrival we were personally met by the GM Mrs Ratna Malhotra and her team. On being shown to my 'tent' my jaw dropped at seeing such a beautiful accommodation and I knew this would be an excellent stay. Dinner on the first night was amazing and set the standard for the rest of my stay. The following morning within 15 mins of entering Ranthanbore we saw our first tiger and my heart skipped a beat! That day we saw a huge amount of animals and the guides arranged by Oberoi were superb and very knowledgeable. We had a great mid morning coffee and cookies. Back to the hotel for a late breakfast and an equally impressive afternoon game drive followed by an early dinner and a well needed sleep. My tent was amazing and incredibly comfortable with a fabulous Victorian free standing bath which I filled to the brim and soaked my weary bones. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have stayed in and the room amenities all worked well. On day 2 I took the afternoon off to enjoy a Swedish massage at the Spa. My masseur was from Nagaland and she was amazing. I fell asleep it was so good! Afterwards I sat in on the balcony and looked out over the lily pond with a cup of tea. It was truly idyllic! I have stayed in a few high end 'safari' camps and hotels in Africa but Vanyavilas was a level above with it's attention to details and amazing 'Oberoi' service. Nothing was too much trouble and I really found it hard to find any faults at all. I have to thank all the staff and Mrs Malhotra for looking after me so well and I can not wait to return one day with my wife! If you are looking for the best place to stay in Ranthanbore then look no further than the Oberoi Vanyavilas!
