Excellent cottages & very friendly staff
We were 4 families who had visited SwaSwara at GoKarna in the month of October 2020 . I must stay the cottages were excellent , contemporary design with huge space. The king size bed can easily accommodate 2 adults . The cottages is the most highlighted aspect of this resort The food is very different from normal hotel or resort food as this is a wellness resort so they will cook food which is good for human body & healthy with no compromise on the taste The staff was very friendly & ensure that they had accommodated all our small request to ensure we were happy in those 3 days Most of there outdoor activities & seating were closed due to restrictions because of Virus but i can image under normal circumstances it would have been such a nice experience to have those lovely open sky settings I don't think that there would be a better place in GoKarna other than SwaSwara
Fantastic property, memorable experience
What an amazingly relaxing vacation we spent at Swaswara!! Spent 3 relaxing nights at Swaswara and went back home wanting to experience it once again. The best part of the property is the location. Set right next to Om Beach, the property is located inside a huge green space with flowers, ponds, and fruit trees. Perfect for walking around! There is easy access to the beach and if you like yoga or sunsets you must spend some time at the Meditation Hill viewpoint. The rooms are actually villas where you get a bedroom, a bathroom, a closet space, a sit out with a garden and another sitout on top. The space ensures you have total privacy and large enough spaces to meditate, or just relax. Our room overlooked a small pond that is used to harvest rainwater and from here you can hear the sounds of the ocean. This is primarily a wellness retreat but if you are looking for space where you can enjoy solitude and luxury then check this out. Food is unbelievably tasty even though they hardly use any masala or oil. We were surprised to see how they cook without oil during our cooking sessions. Activities include yoga, meditation, pottery, cooking classes, nature walks, beach walks, swimming, art and craft, and lots more. So much to do and much more to experience. In short, if you want a luxury coupled with natural surroundings then Swaswara is one of the best places in coastal Karnataka.
A Healing Holiday Destination of it's kind in India....
Swaswara is a healing holiday destination... I read about it some years back in a travel magazine and since then... it was on my mind to explore and see what it is all about. The article mentioned almost everything one needs to know about this place, but still, there was something… which I feel was lacking. Let me tell you, that, this is one of the best healing and ayurvedic resorts in India, which focuses on wellbeing programmes, ayurvedic treatments by doctors, yoga and meditation. It’s a complete package where you get to meet your soul... and rediscover yourself. Located in Gokarna on the OM Beach, the property is spread across acres of land and a self-sustained resort. It’s an eco-sensitive resort which sustains itself through rain water harvesting. There is no other source of water here... from waste water management to bio gas plants, from acres of sugarcane, coconut rice plantation, to keeping it a plastic free zone, to engaging employees from the local communities of Gokarna, this resort has done it all. It’s a bird watcher’s delight and thousands of rare species of butterflies are found here. It was a lifetime and life changing experience for me. From painting classes in the afternoon to morning yoga sessions, from nature walk to pottery classes, interactive cooking classes with the Chef... there is nothing left to be done here. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe and the staffs in the resort are so courteous and warm that, after a point of time, I misunderstood it to be another home of mine. The Villas are spacious with rather unusual interiors; with open bathrooms and a small garden within the Villas. The Art Teacher Mr. Mathew... could relate to my abstract paintings and taught me pottery making. Life inside the resort is so contented and fulfilling that... you will come out of it as a different person all together. The GM of the property (Ms. Mini Chandran) .... who is managing the resort for 9 years is a person who reflects positivity and keeps the show going. The Ayurvedic treatments, the worlds oldest healing systems that cleanses one from inside out…. Is practised here under experienced doctors. I specifically recall Dr. Clins Thomas…. who administered my treatments with a lot of care and concern. Overall an excellent experience and would recommend everyone to visit this place at least once in their lifetime…. It will be a life changing experience for sure and you will certainly meet a “New You”.
Rejuvenate in style
SwaSwara is a great combination of wellness and comfort. The mix of meditation, yoga, ayurvedic massage, and delicious food is quite heady. The staff is well trained and courteous and the service is impeccable. The ambiance of the resort is very peaceful dotted with a large variety of trees and especially the large banyan trees. The sweeping views of the beach from the meditation hill are not to be missed. The property has beach access and Om beach is very clean and quiet.
