The retreat was really relaxing and a really good break from the city during these covid 19 times. Yoga classes and therapies personalized and we felt rejuvenated having taken them. The best part about the resort is the service, all the resort personell are trained in yoga and go above and beyond to make you stay special
Safe getway for a recharge in Covid times
We spend a long weekend at Shreyas in August 2020. We really needed some downtime from the work from home routine that Covid has imposed on us. It was great to go back and get recharged with the daily Yoga, meditation, awesome massages and great tasting healthy food. The team had taken all safety precaution, when we checked in our temperature and Oxygen saturation were both checked. The food was served in a hygienic manner with folks wearing masks at all times. Given the spread out estate, social distancing and other safety measures are very easily followed as well. Overall it was a good safe break.
Ideal for family time in Nature in these COVID times
Shreyas is really the best place to spend time in nature and get pampered. The safety measures are followed to the T. I went with my family and friends on 2 separate trips. The cottages are far apart, the lunch and dinner arrangements are made such that there is social distancing followed without any problems. All the staff follow the protocols and we barely come close to anyone because the property is so large. Even if we do there are so many paths to walk on, it is easy enough to not pass another person while there. There are places to sit in the garden, near the spa, near the pool etc and take in all of natures sounds sights and smells. One of us spotted a hornbill too and munias all over building nests. The folks at the spa are also perfect with safety protocols and absolutely no need to worry with each person getting a box steam and if you go with spouse or family you can request the common steam room. The doctor has excellent decoction suggestions if you have any concerns. We tried 3 different types of home made herbal teas. If you have never been to Shreyas before, the delicious all vegetarian food will just blow you away. The variety of flavors in textures, unique combinations in soups and salads will leave you feeling so amazed. The large organic garden on property with fruits ranging from jackfruits to avocados are a regular part of breakfast and plenty of options are available for vegans. This time we had a dessert with stewed country figs (also grown on property) with gulkhand kulfi. I have never liked rose petal flavors but everything went together so well, lipsmacking! My son ate brinjals for the first time ever. The last thing and also the thing that keeps us going back to Shreyas is the love and care that every member of the team extends - from the Indian welcome of a simple aarti to the indian goodbye where everyone gathers (now from a distance) and waves goodbye, everything is just so warm and comforting. If you have been missing that warmth in these covid times, look no further. ps:You can pay via account transfer prior to arrival if you don't want the hassle of settling the bill with card etc. Carry your own pen and a softcopy of your ID cards - you will be required to sign some documents.
Get back to feeling amazing
After everything that's happened these last few months, when I heard Shreyas was opening up, I was absolutely thrilled. I am so happy to report that everything is just how you remember it. The food is fantastic - those soups are still the best in the world! The massages are divine - maybe even better than I remember. And the staff: everyone you remember is still there, from the moment you wake up for 6:30am yoga, to meditation, to the jolly chief - now more eager than ever to make whatever your heart desires, to the doc who recommend all kinds of wonderful treatments while smiling from behind her mask. During the last few months, Shreyas has also started some lovely landscaping, more flowering trees, even more grass (if you can believe it). The smell of rain on the dirt is incredible. It is so good to get out of the city again. Since Shreyas is keeping the number of rooms they let out to a minimum, you really feel like you have the entire place to yourself. Especially if you go out for a walk at the arboretum or the vegetable gardens or the temple. A poolside dinner by candlelight under the green canopy is pretty much just as incredible as it sounds. A couple nights in my favourite tent and all seems right in the world again. If you’ve missed your time at Shreyas, the good news is, everything is just how you remember it. Better even.
Beautiful, relaxing and incredible food.
I have been to Shreyas 6 times over the past 11 years. I keep going back because of the of people who work there, it's like coming home. The grounds are a beautiful space to walk and the food is abundant in flavor and vegetables. I got a cold when I was there and the doctor checked on me twice a day and provided Ayurvedic treatments for my cough and congestion. I can't recommend Shreyas enough, it's beautiful, the people are caring and they embody yogic philosophy in their daily lives. Thank you Shreyas for another wonderful experience. Looking forward to returning.
