Visit to Ananda during COVID 19
After much soul searching we decided to take the plunge and do a two day trip to Ananda when they opened the Resort from the 1st of August and sent us a mailer. Although expensive we needed the break after being in the house for six months. They assured us that they would be taking all precautions. They also sent us a pick up and drop from Delhi to Ananda and back. That saved the tedium of driving during the monsoons on uncertain roads. We had to get a Covid test done within 72 hours of the journey as per Uttarakhand entry to the State requirements. That done we were ready for the journey. The car arrived promptly at 8 in the morning and masked and sanitised we started for the journey. The car was very comfortable and the driver, Ravindra, was excellent. We stopped at the border town of Hardwar and got our clearance done. Ananda had already sent us our epass. We reached Ananda around 3 in the afternoon, the roads in Uttarakhand were particularly bad. We were welcomed and taken to our room in the golf cart. The two day stay was excellent, the staff looked after us and our every request was attended to immediately. Everything was contactless, even the menu for the meals! The one thing we missed was the pool which was not open. I got the massage done while my husband consulted the doctor. After two nights we were driven back to Delhi by Ravindra. All in all it was an excellent trip and I would recommend it to everyone.
Fantastic property, even better service
Its very seldom that you hear an emphatic YES from every staff member to each request that you or your family makes. Needless to say our stay at Ananda was delightful. Big thanks to POORAN, Neeraj, Arun, Dr Naresh, Jyoti and his team. We will be back!
Very bad experience
We reached the resort gates and wanted to go in and have a discussion to fix a treatment plan for me and my wife. The security guard refused to let us in and asked us to call Delhi! We repeatedly asked him to call someone from the resort to at least talk to us but he flatly refused. It's amazing that potential customers are turned away like that. I guess there is too much revenue being generated by the Ananda resort that they have such an attitude and approach to their customers. God help them!
A true sanctuary
For a perfect getaway, or to recharge your healthy habits, or to incorporate some well-being into your life, or to get energized, or for a pure, indulgent, pampering trip...get yourself to Ananda in the Himalayas and you might easily achieve it all. Set against the backdrop of the smoky Shivalik range with the snow-capped Himalayas in the majestic distance, the hotel is strategically located behind the beautiful Maharaja's palace. The spa boasts of a multitude of treatments performed by therapeutic and skilled therapists. The treatment rooms invoke a zen-like atmosphere further enhanced by the gentle and professional masseuses. The food is fresh, flavorful and healthy. The chef is present at all times to take in your requests and offer suggestions as per your goals and health requirements. I loved the daily herbal concoctions available in the restaurant for the effective purpose of detoxing, energizing or digesting. The staff are polite and courteous and eager to help. Everyone is approachable and happy to be of service. You are always made to feel welcome. The hotel organizes a beautiful excursion down to the holy city of Rishikesh for a memorable Aarti by the banks of the revered Ganga river. It is an extraordinary outing worth experiencing. Available at the hotel are informative and relatable Vedanta classes that are talks on spirituality. These simple but profound talks appeal to the layman and offer straightforward tools and techniques in leading a more fulfilling life. They also have talks and workshops offered by visiting masters. There is plenty to do at Ananda and it is also the perfect place to do nothing. You can immerse yourself in the surrounding beauty and that in itself is a good enough reason to visit Ananda in the Himalayas.
Birthday week at Ananda
I was on a solo trip with a stress management program. Been a vegan I have to be very careful with food. But the chef of the resort was very good, I got to try new dishes and I loved it. My stay at the resort was great.
