Stayed for two nights at the beginning of our holiday to India. We were picked up b y the hotel car for the airport. We booked it because it was convenient and couldn’t be bothered to faff around at the airport sorting taxis after a long flight. However is it so pricey, if you have time I recommend getting your own cab from the airport which is what we did for the way back. The hotel is nice and fancy. It was a good base not too far from the airport and convenient to get to other places. The Japanese restaurant is tasty. We lounged by the hotel pool a bit, but not too much as the pollution in Delhi had reached hazardous levels when we were there. On a good day it seems like there would be a great view from the rooftop! Breakfast has a lot of choices to suit anyone. Staff are all very helpful. Would stay again!
In New Delhi you cant go wrong with a stay at Leela Palace
Three nights with the family. Staff is excellent. Centralized tipping is brilliant. The room was well appointed and the shower simply fantastic. We didn’t get to check out the roof top pool (we’ll be back) and the security is well intentioned. Breakfast at the Qube was included in the room price and worth it! Very good choices and fresh Indian and westerns made to order items including uthapam and omelet. Never felt rushed. Serene respite from the smog and dust that envelop Delhi.
No service no hospitality
Airport transfer between airport and hotel is part of the "extras" included for staying at the suite. My flight arrived at 14:45 last week of October month and even though the hotel has received my flight details, no one showed up to pick me up. After arriving I had to wait 30 min for the representative/manager because he was busy at departure. I heard a boy in red jacket saying that Leela people only have to earn money on departure. They don't matter with arriving guests. Such a reducules service According to the Airport Manager Sumit kapur since I failed to make a reservation from the evening, they had assumed that my flight actually arrives on the next day. Going by their logic, no guest would have been picked-up at the airport if he comes earlier or late than schedule time. After much bickering at the airport, where they claimed that transfer is not part of my package (even though it's clearly stated in my reservation and the welcome letter) 2) Check-in. Upon arrival, duty manager greeted us, but he made me agree to paying a full-night stay before letting me go upstairs to the room How disrespectful and tactless is this? If money is an issue, I wouldn't be staying at the Leela only got into the room at 5pm If the hotel's check-in time is 12, why do I have to pay a full night for providing "service" for 1/3. (Another couple who checked in before me also had the same complaint) Sadly, the Leela does not have a policy on full vs half night as the Hyatt or Shangrila have.
Quite simply one of the best hotels we have stayed in......anywhere in the world. The level of service is like something I’ve never seen before. Nothing is too much and everything is of the highest possible quality. The Italian restaurant was fantastic made even better by the Executive Chef, Chef Mac coming out of the kitchen and spending some time talking to us and telling us about his career. He then came over to us the next day at breakfast and interacted with the kids, who were engrossed in his conversation. One of the best spa’s I have been to and the rooftop pool would have been the icing on the cake had it not been for the Delhi smog - I was almost expecting the Leela to do something about that to make our stay comfortable!!!! :-) Overall, exceptional. The only place to stay in Delhi. We will be back.
So many words can describe the magnificent hotel that this place is that I don’t know where to begin. The attention to detail is extraordinary! The service and care from the staff is equally extraordinary! The rooms are well maintained and staying here is nothing short of the five star experience you’re looking for. The rooftop pool is extraordinary! The food, well don’t get me started on that other than to say it was also extraordinary. So the one word I would have for this hotel is, “extraordinary”. Thank you to the Leela Palace for a wonderful stay and I will definitely be back. Recommended 100% with no doubts whatsoever.
