A great heritage hotel
Arrived from Uk after a long flight and they were wonderful at the hotel. They found us a lovely room immediately. All the staff from the General Manger downward were attentive and gave a great service. The hotel is full of history and an oasis in the bustle of Delhi. The food was great. Looking forward to returning for one night before we return home later in January.
A+++ Best staff ever! OMG what a hotel
From the initial check-in with Hira, a person with the kindest soul and the sweetest demeanor than I have seen in years, to the food at the restaurant, to the hotel taxi driver, this hotel has been excellent one every level. Every single person I have encountered at this hotel has been wonderful to meet. Where I live we call this "Aloha'. I have been at luxury hotels all across the globe and this one is particularly special - far exceeding my expectations, especially for the price. Kind smiling eyes everywhere. The general manager was thoughtful and professional, and introduced himself at check-in. The chef was more talented that 90% of the Michelin star restaurants out there. The wait staff at the restaurants and bar are all simply delightful. The front desk staff sent us a driver, who helped us with both driving and very helpful safety advice. The laundry service was perfectly efficient. I wish I could remember the names of all of the most wonderful people on earth who work here. I am in a comfortable bed in a spotless room in the hotel as I type this review. And again, Hira seems to help us with a smile, but only because she is kind - more than just a job. Really everyone here is like that. What a refreshing people. I am blessed to be staying here. The chef cares about his food and it shows!. I've stayed in the best hotels in Paris, Tokyo, Honolulu, Washington DC, China, Brazil, London, Lisbon - you name it - and I have never been so touched with such kindness and excellent service as I have been here. Grandeur and service
A beautiful hotel with a grand history. As always with any place run by Oberoi, the service is immaculate and the room quality is perfect. This is Oberoi lite in comparison to some others but super well done, lovely included breakfast and staff determined to do the best they can in every way to make your stay brilliant. Handily located right near Civil Lines Metro station. Close to the Tibet-town area of North Delhi (you should go and eat there). Other close by restaurants are a block away. Street food over the road at the next intersection south (but go the nearby and in house restaurant eating). Affordable airport transfer and daily driver rates. Their exchange rates on $AUD were better than available at Chandni Chowk. Pool outside but heated all year round.
A friend and I stayed one night at the Maidens Hotel and honestly, I wish we could have stayed longer! The front desk staff were top notch- kind, professional, eager to help. We were upgraded to a suite (a nice surprise!), which was beautiful and modern, while still maintaining the historic charm. We would absolutely stay again! The staff member who stood out the most and really made our stay memorable was one of the drivers, Kishori Lal. The hotel arranged for him to drive us to Old Delhi to see the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. On the ride over, Kishori was so friendly and told us all about Delhi. Once we arrived at the Red Fort, he offered to escort us around and help translate, which was extremely helpful! He helped us buy tickets and navigate the grounds, telling us all sorts of fun facts along the way. After the Red Fort, he walked with us to Chandni Chowk, a crazy-busy market covering several streets. The market was so crowded and hard to navigate, we definitely would have gotten lost without him. He helped us find a few nice shops to buy jewelry and other souviners. I don't think I would have enjoyed that market at all if it wasn't for him. The next day we were scheduled to take a train down to Agra for a Taj Mahal tour. Our flight back to the states was that night, and we didn't have much time between when we would arrive back in Delhi and when we needed to be to the airport. Kishori offered to pick us up at the train station in Delhi (with our bags so we didn't need to drag them all the way to Agra and back), then directly to the airport. We are very greatful for his services and his kindness.
Beautiful historic hotel
We arrived after a long flight from Brisbane AUS and were welcomed with delicious hot chocolate and warm and friendly staff especially Mr Shubham who showed us around the hotel and to our room. We were celebrating an aniversary and he had chosen a lovely room for us. The suite was spacious and beautifully maintained. The breakfast menu provided a great variety of options. We favoured the Indian dishes (the dosa is a must) and sat outside enjoying watching the wild peacocks feeding on the lawn. Both dining areas and the bar were excellent. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning when in Delhi again.
