A hotel that oozes with memories and grandeur
The hotel staff on the whole were outstanding and very friendly and were concerned when my wife didn’t come for breakfast on the first day and sent her breakfast to the room. Thank you
Pool area was very nice as were the changing facilities
Room service was exceptional with trainee chefs delivering the food
I thought the rooms would be noisy but it was very quiet
Even climate control system was very quiet.
No, hand shower/ portable bidet in the bathroom which I guess is a legacy from the colonial times
Breakfast was busy and some what chaotic when asking for for specific items which took a long time to arrive. However my daughter was given a sample of in house chocolate as a way of saying sorry which was a nice touch.
When we went there the next day at an earlier less busy time everything was on point.
The IT needs to be improved, we had two bookings over three days but the crossover for continuity wasn’t there and despite reminding the hotel staff three times I still had to re register the internet and re register the key cards. (In fairness I kept misplacing keycards and the front of house gave me more )
I sent them a screenshot of their welcome email that addressed me as simply “Mr” as it seemed impersonal and put I it down to a technical or human error and my my feedback may have provided some assistance if there was a glitch as maybe something similar was happening with all customers but got no response.
Overall it was a very good experience and given the high standards The Oberoi Grand sets itself, it lost a star due to the issues I mentioned above
