Great stay at the Agra Trident hotel, rooms are comfy 4/5, the service is really good 4,5/5, the restaurant food is very good 4,4/5 and the resort is a great and relaxed one to enjoy at night, with beautiful gardens and superb lightenings. A well deserved 4.3/5 overall (price/quality).
One of the best in Agra
We only stayed here one night on a visit to the Red Fort of Agra, and Taj Mahal. Driving down to the hotel we were not impressed much by its competitors, and were apprehensive of what we would find at our hotel. But on arrival, and the gate slides back it’s actually a very good hotel, very clean, very modern, and efficient and effective staff. It’s all laid out in a square, with gardens, fountains and pool in the central area, all the rooms the same, just different views, the bedrooms aren’t large, but do the job, and their clean and modern, beds are a bit hard, but each to their own. Restaurant is modern, but the food is excellent, with good staff and management. If your staying in Agra, you probably wouldn’t do better than this hotel, we would recommend it to anyone.
The hotel has a nice vibe and clean design. In comparison with others around that we saw on the way, this one seems definitely the best option. Hotel facilities are clean and comfort. Some negative aspects I need to point out is that the pool was under maintenance (January is low season in India), although for tourists it's ok for a swim. They offered the possibility to use the pool of the hotel next door, transport included, but to be fair, the correct procedure would have been for them to inform all guests prior to arrival. The other one (which I don't know if I consider negative or just unexpected) was that the usual entertainment of dancers, instrument players and palm readers would have a place for donations (palm reader actually negotiates his price) and in this hotel range I never saw anything similar (it kind of gives you a vibe of being in a subway with a singer eager to get some coins). Rooms were spacious and clean, bed is comfortable and the staff is super helpful and extremely polite. In the end it was kind of a "neutral" experience, but I would still recommend it.
We stayed here for 2 nights whilst travelling for a few weeks in India and what a find it was. I didn’t realise when booking that Trident is part of the Oberoi chain which explained it all. Prompt chauffeur pick up from Agra station and safely taken to the hotel. This is an excellent hotel and the staff were always smiling and genuinely appeared to be happy working there. They interacted with the guests and were on hand if anything was required. Our trip to see the Taj Mahal was organised by the hotel, the driver dropping us at the Oberoi where we were then taken by golf buggy as no cars were allowed any further. The food here was excellent. One night we had the buffet and the second night we ordered form the menu; food really was first class. Yuvraj, the food and beverage manager went out of his way to help us when we travelled onwards to Jaipur and Ranthambore which was very much appreciated indeed. Thanks Yuvraj. Our room was beautiful and we sat in the evening watching a Rajasthani puppetry show. I wish more guests would have supported this age old tradition by purchasing something, even a few rupees makes a difference and supports this age old art. All in all an excellent stay and very highly recommended as well as being excellent value for money.
Good Hotel with Fantastic service
This was our first stay with the Trident brand and I was really impressed. Hotel lobby, bar and restaurant are light and modern. Rooms were nice and beds comfatable. Service was amazing, the staff really did seem to care and went out of there way to talk and interact with us. I had a really nice goan fish curry which they made slightly less spicy for me and the chef came out and asked if we had enjoyed it which was a nice touch. Overall nice hotel and great stay.
