Honeymoon - late review (better late than never)
Where to start with this incredible resort! From start to finish, the staff at Vedema was top notch. All the little things from remembering our drink orders by the pool to going out of their way to deliver room service before the kitchen opened so we could go on our hike from Fira to Oia. Speaking of, it is SO much better to stay at Vedema as your home base. It is beautiful to visit Fira and Oia, but both are overrun with day tourists crowding the narrow streets. It was so nice to return to the quaint village after visiting Oia. And the free shuttle to Persia beach is the cherry on top. 5 stars all the way!
Beautiful resort but be extremely careful in the pool!
My friend and I were traveling Greece as a part of a business trip and realized we had access to this amazing resort. It is absolutely beautiful and the staff was so accommodating. We were enjoying the beautiful pool when I walked out onto the flat surface that lies just beneath the layout area which allows you to then transition into the deeper part of the pool and my feet flipped out from under me! It was terrifying as I thought I’d really broken something. Both ankles and 3 toes got extremely bruised and I limped the rest of my trip (3 days). While they offered to put ice on the injury, I really wish they’d just fix that area for future guests. Or at least out up a sign that discourages you from stepping into that area. As I laid in pain, others around us said they’d seen others either slip or also fall. This is just a dangerous thing to potentially seriously injure someone. I know it made for an uncomfortable time for me the rest of my visit. Other than this, it was a nice place.
Most of my stays with luxury collection hotels have been pleasant. This one is no exception. Hotel rooms, services, facilities are all in place, very convenient for dining, but unfortunately it’s not at the beach.
As splendid as ever!
The Hotel was at its best last summer . The staff are always very caring and helpful and the rooms are super comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bedding was particularly comfortable and made for wonderful nights sleep.
5 star resort in a quiet village
This was our first stop and also our first time in Greece. We were greeted and picked up at the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front receptionists who then gave us some orientation to the resort along the way to our room. We booked the Dorian room which was the lowest category but it already exceeded my expectations in every aspects. The simplicity, white coloured walls, decorations and furniture compliment the atmosphere of the room. Absolutely love the unique Cycladic architecture of all buildings in the resort. If you explore the surroundings, there are rooms with private pools overlooking the landscape. Complimentary shuttle to Fira and Perivolos / Perissa beach (black sand beach). The shuttle that goes to the beach will take you to the beach club called Santorini Wet Stories. Totally loved and enjoyed the club. It was so beautiful and the DJ music was good too. Do go there early to book the front seats (complimentary from 3rd row for hotel guest) as it could get crowded in the afternoon. Breakfast was served buffet style and ala cart on one of the days. I have to say the coffee latte was one of the best I’ve tried in Europe. I had thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Vedema and I highly recommend couples/best friends to stay here. Thank you very much for the warm service and hospitality.
