5 star resort in a quiet village
This was our first stop and also our first time in Greece. We were greeted and picked up at the airport. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front receptionists who then gave us some orientation to the resort along the way to our room. We booked the Dorian room which was the lowest category but it already exceeded my expectations in every aspects. The simplicity, white coloured walls, decorations and furniture compliment the atmosphere of the room. Absolutely love the unique Cycladic architecture of all buildings in the resort. If you explore the surroundings, there are rooms with private pools overlooking the landscape. Complimentary shuttle to Fira and Perivolos / Perissa beach (black sand beach). The shuttle that goes to the beach will take you to the beach club called Santorini Wet Stories. Totally loved and enjoyed the club. It was so beautiful and the DJ music was good too. Do go there early to book the front seats (complimentary from 3rd row for hotel guest) as it could get crowded in the afternoon. Breakfast was served buffet style and ala cart on one of the days. I have to say the coffee latte was one of the best I’ve tried in Europe. I had thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Vedema and I highly recommend couples/best friends to stay here. Thank you very much for the warm service and hospitality.
Amazing place and the most helpful staff
In our recent trip to Santorini, we stayed at Vedema luxury resorts. It was the best selection. Nestled in the middle of a cute town of Megalochori, it’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy a serene atmosphere. I don’t know where to start to praise the staff. From the time we checked in it was evident that the staff paid attention to every detail. Extremely courteous, friendly and very helpful. The lady at the desk who welcomed us (Teresa) was super awesome! She gave us excellent guidance regarding what to see, where to eat, how to get there, making reservations etc. The property itself is beautiful! The unit we stayed at was very comfortable and had all amenities. Wine tour at the facility was not only convenient but great selection of wines to taste! Overall, I give them five ⭐️!!
Perhaps the nicest hotel in the village
A very interesting facility with good service. The character of the building was reflective of the previous winery. Interesting dining room, roof top dining and having breakfast outside was nice each morning. In October, it was very quiet which we liked. They were proud that they had us in one of the best rooms in the category that I had booked. As an Elite Marriott customer for life, I was not impressed. The room was nice, not a suite with a large bath with a steady moldy smell. The transportation was a great feature of the hotel to see the island.
the first thing I noticed about this hotel is the design of it. the architecture blends in with the other buildings perfectly. it makes you feel like you live in this village. the rooms are really suites. they have a very comfortable king bed, a couch with a large flat screen, a huge bathroom with a tub and a rain shower. other nice touches are the usb ports, lights for reading, a safe, and shutters for privacy. the room is cleaned every day and they even have a turn down service. still not sure what that is , but I just took the candy. the employees are excellent. they take care of you. they gave maps for directions, change money, ideas on where to go, made porridge for breakfast and always said hello. one that stood out was ILIANA, she gave the wine tasting class and was our waitress. she answered all of our questions and got some ginger ale and soup for me when I had an upset stomach. the restaurant in the wine cellar was really nice. the reason I called this review the quiet side is because of this hotels location. here in this little village, you are transported in time. walk down an ally and you sit down at a café and have dinner with wine and friendly waiters, cats walking around and church bells ringing. the atmosphere is magic, then after dinner walk back in the hotel and go for a dip in the pool. the rest of the island is also beautiful , full of things to do and see. you can get their with the hotel shuttle or the bus.
Myself and a large group stayed at the Vedema as part of an incentive trip and it was a pure escape. The hotel is wonderful, the suites are gorgeous with little treats left each night. The pools, food and even the toiletries were lovely and it truly felt much more of a private escape than most others resorts of this style, even in the heat of summer. Megachalori is a sleepy village which was so different to the tourist-full streets of Oia - the hotel offers free shuttles to and from Oia to allow you to explore but also get away. We also rented cars which allowed everyone to get all around the island, to the highest points and to Akrotiri, and the location was perfect for this. If you’re looking to be able to walk out of the hotel into the picture perfect sunsets you see on Instagram, it’s not for you. If you want a hotel which feels like it’s just for you with amazing staff and peaceful evenings in the small courtyard restaurants within the village, travel there as fast as you can.
