Great place to stay
We spent 3 nights here in October, 2019 and had a great time. The view of the water and sunset is unbeatable. We never hurried to a restaurant to get the view as our view was better than that. It was a little windy one day but you could hunker down on the porch and be comfortable. The staff was very helpful, especially Peggy, and the room has everything you need. The food for breakfast was superb and quickly delivered to the room at no additional cost. The insight restaurant was always deserted - don’t know why. We never tried it as we found a little place down the street “for locals” which was inexpensive and good. If we came again we might try staying in Fira, where there is more “action” but this is a lovely and romantic spot!
Imerovigli is a very small village outside of busy Thira (aka Fira). The hotel is part of the Small Luxury Hotels collection. The all-suite accommodations were very nice especially if you upgrade to the rooms with hot tubs on the deck (overlooking the sea, of course). Like most places in Santorini, there are a lot of steps involved but you can request a room with less walking up and down. Beautiful views from sea view suites. Peggy Petratou, Hotel Operation and Sales Director is very hands on and she is terrific...everything from the warm welcome to personal greetings everyday. The hotel staff is very responsive and will help with anything from restaurant reservations to transfers to/from the port or airport. The breakfasts in the room are a highlight with wonderful choices available. We also enjoyed a late lunch upon arrival. Every place has a Greek salad, of course, but Gold Suites was especially good (composed salad was beautiful). This is a great hotel for couples. The bathrooms are a bit smaller than some of the hotels but certainly not a decision factor. Highly recommend if you want R&R and quiet.
This hotel is superb with fantastic views and in a great location to explore. The staff are friendly and do go out of their way to help you. I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was clean and beautiful. My only negative is the food selection at the hotel is limited especially gluten free options.
We had a great time at this hotel. The location, staff, room - perfect :) we had a superiour suite, it was spacious and the view from the balcony was breath taking. Short walk to restaurants from the hotel.
We stayed here for a week while celebrating our wedding anniversary & my birthday. Although a couple of the hotels staff wished me a happy birthday there was no "extras" on either of our special days. It cost us over £3,000 for this week so I would have thought a glass of wine or a small cake would not have been to much to ask for. Having said this the hotel is set in a stunning position & the sunsets are amazing. Our room was large & very clean althought the bathroom could have had more TLC around the skirting boards & shower area. Our private pool & terrace area was kept imaculate & the pool was of a good temperature. The staff were friendly & the breakfast served to our room was first class with so much choice & beautifully presented. A small selection of local restaurants within a 5 min walk. We are so glad we have visited this beautiful setting as we returned home with batteries fully charged.
