Beautiful Place to Visit
We stopped in Mykonos as the final port on our 7 day cruise. I wish we had more time to visit but if I am ever able to return to Greece, I would like to spend at least a few days. The little shops were fun to browse through and we did visit a couple of the art galleries.
With a heavy heart..
It really is with a heavy heart that I write this review. Having been to the hotel on 3 previous occasions I was really looking forward to this visit....and all went well until the last day when my partner and I were assaulted by another guest, who had just been beating his girlfriend and then aggressively attacked us. Whilst the hotel cannot be held responsible for his behaviour, they can be held responsible for failing to eject him immediately from the hotel and/or calling the Police and then lying to us about the actions they had taken against him. I was assured by the hotel manager that the guest had been confined to his room (he hadn't been) and that he would be removed by the Tourist Police the next day (he wasn't). Instead we and all of the other guest had to put up with this aggressive man prowling around the hotel and its bars, putting us all in fear of our safety. This was completely unacceptable. It was clear to me that the hotel manager was more interested in hushing matters up and keeping this man in his expensive room in the hotel than doing the right thing. I can see no circumstances in which I would ever go back to the Mykonos Theoxenia. Returning guests are not valued as they should be, and no hotel should allow its guest personal safety to be compromised in the way I experienced. I should add that I have tried to address matters by private emails to the hotel, but after not getting any response, the response I eventually did receive denied conversations that I sat and had with the hotel manager. Just not good enough, so one to avoid under current management.
This summer i visit Mykonos with my friends, we decide to stay in Mykonos Theoxenia. For us it was a great experiance. Very nice hotel in the center of Mykonos town next to the very famous sightseeing "windmills" and close to "Little Venice". All the staff are very friendly with us and give us all the necessary information about restaurants and about night life . The rooms finally are spacious with great view and with all the equipment that you need. o
Not a 5 star hotel
We stayed here from 9/26 to 9/29/2019. Here is the rundown: Pros: Full resort with all amenities offered (pool, bar, spa, etc.) Beautiful peaceful location in otherwise chaotic tourist trap Good service at front desk Cons: Rooms in bad need of repair Sinks do not drain Shower and tub do not drain Shower designed so you cannot shower without soaking the rest of the bathroom Only one nightstand No room to place suitcase Broken doors to closet, but lights won't go off at night without forcing closet door closed. Breakfast is a standard European hotel breakfast, nothing to write home about.
Perfect Location and Hotel!
I chose the Hotel Mykonos Theoxenia beacuase of it's location proximity to the old town of Mykonos. I loved their selection of food and the views from the room and breakfast area. The room we had was perfect with a small balcony facing the sea, their WiFi was perfect, the foodselection and quality was Perfect, the Staff was exceptional, the pool attendents and quality of service was exceptional, the front desk staff a dream. I can't wait to come back to the Theoxenia and Mykonos! I could live there all summer!
