The resort is clean, modern, safe and luxurious. Fortunately, I went at the end of October, so prices were much more reasonable. The resort is great value for families with kids. A concern pointed out by other reviewers said that kids were noisy and distracting in restaurants for a child-free couple, but I didn't feel this was an issue at all. We sat apart from the family areas and kids were barely noticeable. I was delighted with my spacious ground floor bungalow room with private garden and sunloungers. I personally think it's nicer than higher rooms which have a balcony with sea view, but they have no large outside space. It is definitely worth the slight increase in price to book this room than other smaller double rooms in the main building. I honestly did not feel like I was missing out from the Deluxe area, so I don't think it's worth the extra price to pay for those rooms. Free minibar replenished daily was excellent with branded spirits, plenty of mixers and water. I wish they had some snacks in the minibar though. Free room service had a slightly limited menu, but the burger was great and service was fast. Bars stocked premium international drinks and made every cocktail, so it's great value for people who drink all day long! They might have been short-staffed at the beach and pool, so I had to go up to the bar to order drinks. Despite the hotel being fully booked, the restaurants weren't packed and there were plenty of sunloungers in the pool and beach areas. The a la carte high dining dishes were excellent, as was the wine menu and service. You can book three restaurants in advance and I recommend booking more as soon as you check in, as availability will be limited. Free Mini car is great and I recommend driving around the nearby small villages as the roads are easy and quiet. Don't make our mistake of driving over an hour to Thessaloniki, where the city traffic is worse than London and very stressful! The city wasn't even worth the journey and I would much rather have stayed in the resort. There are also free half day excursions to nearby villages if you'd rather not drive. All the staff were lovely and I never felt that they expected tips. Customer service is excellent and they were are helpful about making anything right if there are any small issues. They looked after me so well for my birthday and there was great communication from the team. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday and I hope to stay with the Ikos brand for future all-inclusive holidays.
Knight family holiday
Where shall I start? It is very hard to pick any one person that’s doesn’t give you 5 star quality service at Ikos Olivia. This is now our 6th visit back and the second visit bringing my entire family. I know that Liza will be there waiting for us when we arrive again this year. The entire team at Ikos Olivia are very accommodating, especially with the children. All restaurants are fantastic, the service they provide is above and beyond and they really work for and deserve their 5 star status. The rooms are wonderful and perfect sizes and have all the amenities you could need and if you need anything the staff will always get it for you. The destination itself is beautiful and its the best place to relax and unwind, you truly feeling revitalised whenever you leave. There are 3 pools all together and they are clean, tidy, spacious and well patrolled by the lifeguards. The hotel has its own private section of beach, plenty of sun loungers and there is a beach bar there too. All in all, Ikos delivers every time, see you soon!
Amazing 1st holiday as a new family - Thank you Ikos Olivia!
We stayed here in September 2019, and this was our 1st holiday with our 6 month old daughter. This hotel couldnt have been more suitable for a young family. The staff are amazing, polite, friendly and ultra helpful. The rooms are a good size, even with a pram and cot in the room there was plenty of space. The pools are great, and the service around them is even better. The food is incredible, our favourite was the French restaurant, the apple crumble was insane!! We had a great time, and would like to give a special thanks to Liza Martyanova who really looked after us during our stay We have already re-booked to come again in September this year, and can't wait to come back! Lovely holiday! 4.5* rating
Spent a week here at the end of June with my sister. Excellent check in service. Room was gorgeous & we were upgraded to sea view room after a couple of days which was lovely. Amazing shampoo, conditioner, shower gel & body lotion supplied. Night time turn down service was a nice touch too. Easy to find a sun bed any time of the day. The beach buddy’s were insistent on bringing the towels to your bed, but this sometimes took them 10 minutes, which wasn’t great and we would have been happy enough to take the towels ourselves. After about 6pm the beach buddy’s also wanted to realign the beds in a pattern ready for the next day & we were asked to move!! Which we weren’t happy about understandably as we wanted to enjoy the last hour of sunshine rather than sit in a formation. Would rather that the beach buddy’s focused on the emptier areas of the beach and leave those who were still there to sit/lie as they were. Beach service & restaurant service for drinks was poor. On occasion we were waiting over 15 minutes for some drinks, and in one case our meal arrived before!! Just very slow, so would suggest for the team to work on improving this. Food was always incredible, with excellent choice. They were happy to make whatever you wanted and it was lovely. Wine was gorgeous, as were the cocktails. The choice to dine out was great, soooo much food. I would advise people to book 3 of their restaurants for the first 3 days in advance of arrival as they get fully booked. Just email the hotel and they’ll sort it. Gym facilities were good too, and they also have fitness classes, which we didn’t try but they looked good. Staff were very polite generally. We didn’t try the spa or indoor facilities but they looked good. All the toilets cleaned regularly which was great - always being cleaned and freshened up. It was a bit dead in the evenings, there’s a bit of music and some entertainment but think it was child orientated. There is a white party once a week - bring white clothes! Overall lovely relaxing holiday. Would maybe rate 4.5* just because of the the slow service and having to wait a lot throughout the holiday. Not sure we would go again simply because we’d like to visit other places in the world, but would recommend it for a relaxing chilled holiday & amazing food.
Liza is such a help
I have always wanted to visit Ikos Olivia due to all of the great reviews, but am a real gym bunny and with kids I prefer to train before they all wake up, so the gym opening time of 8am has always put me off. I was delighted to read the review earlier this week that said the opening time had changed to 7am and thought I would chance my arm and email the hotel to see if they would move any further. Liza came straight back to me and while she wouldn't change the opening hours, she all but confirmed that I would be able to gain entry from 530am. This is great news and such great service. I really can't wait to get this trip booked now :)
