For the cost at this time of year (October), it’s hard to fault this place despite the vast size (over a thousand people staying in our week, of which we were among the few adults not sporting rather desperate tattoos...) and the “all inclusive” connotations. Hotels like this will always attract a few rude and sharp elbowed people, but hopefully they leave with better manners than when they arrived. It rarely felt crowded, and you can always find a quiet spot. In their high season however, I think there are better options elsewhere. The staff were utterly amazing - so patient, kind and attentive. This can’t be an easy crowd to work with, though we heard a few times from staff that the pushy tattooed boozy Brits apparently aren’t the worst they get... Rooms are spacious (even with z beds in) and clean (on some days, not serviced until the evening though). The layout and pokey bathroom make them feel more cramped than they should be, but this is a small gripe. If you can get into the very busy kids club, it was good (as long as Jed was on duty). Pools and facilities are amazing, and the variety of eating available was mostly of a pretty high standard, though not knock out. For us, the buffets were generally better than any of the a la carte options. And you need to book well in advance if you want to try one of the a la carte places. We never felt bored or the need to leave the hotel during our week, but the hotel encourages you to get out if you want to with the free hire cars, shuttle bus, picnics and external dining arrangements. The included wine list and other drinks were good and there’s plenty to choose from. There was always a buzz in the lobbies in the evenings and always something going on from live music to sunset cruises to kids disco. The beach makes the most of what it is. For a busy island in the Med, this ain’t bad. And the swimming area is safe from boat traffic. All in all, this place delivers the benefits of its scale and really changed my perception of what an “all inclusive” can be.
Good for people with mobility problems
I endorse all the good reviews for this hotel but my review covers ‘is it suitable for a disabled traveller’. Yes , it is. Virtually all the hotel & grounds are ok for a user of a wheelchair or a mobility scooter. All the restaurants are spacious enough to cope with mobility aids. Good signage around the resort to direct you to ‘flat’ areas. We had a 1 bedroom suite with a sea view on the 1st floor of the Sky building giving us plenty of room for the scooter. I think you would be better suited to this building (rather than the Sea Building) if you are disabled. It is possible to have room service breakfasts from any of the restaurants which is a huge advantage. It was possible to take my Husbands scooter on the shuttle bus into Corfu town as it can be disassembled. All the staff were very helpful. Should you not want to take your own mobility aids or even break down, search out Go Go mobility...we broke down & the owner of the company sorted us out at the weekend...he was Brilliant & spoke good English. However a negative about the hotel is it was not possible for my Husband to use any of the swimming pools as the steps did not have suitable rails.
Wonderful family vacation!
We had an amazing time @Ikos! Nice rooms (we had a room from the deluxe collection-category), really good food, nice beach area! Because of the booking of a room of the deluxe collection-category, we got some extras (Access to a reserved area of the beach, concierge for the “deluxe collection”-clients): small attentions, which made the difference! But the most important thing for us: the hotel and its personal were children-friendly! Our 2-years old daughter had a lot of fun! We have already booked our next trip back there ... sooo, it says everything! 😍
Beautiful resort with attention to detail, and the best ever service I have experienced anywhere. I’ve travelled to 5* hotels in Middle East and Far East, but would rate the staff and service at Ikos far higher. We had a sea view panoramic junior suite which was beautiful and stunning view. Only disappointment was that the terrace was massive, yet only had a table and four chairs yet so much space it would have been nice to have two loungers also. Amazing food and service everywhere, and a must is to book for the wine tasting, the sommelier is great, she was brilliant and the wine bar was the place to start the evening off before dinner. The only criticism would be that if it rains of an evening, the entertainment/show doesn’t take place, so there’s not always a lot going on. With a resort like this I would have thought there would be an alternative venue, we missed the white party, and one other evening, also some of the fitness sessions get cancelled should it rain. Apart from this, had a amazing holiday.
Wow wow wow !!
Visited the last week of the season , but you would never have guessed as for the Ikos Dassia it was business as usual . It’s impossible to write how amazing this hotel is . I always stay in 5 star hotels all inclusive , but this one takes the concept to another level. From the minute you walk into the hotel to the minute you leave you will be treated like a vip. No waiting around when you check in , a member of staff sits you down with a drink of fizz and does the check in for you . No tacky all inclusive wristbands either . Nothing is too much trouble for the staff of the Ikos Dassia . The hotel is beautifully arranged and set in a stunning location with private beach . All areas are spotlessly clean . Room service twice daily , and a fully stocked mini bar with branded spirits . Complimentary spa toiletries provided . The food in all the restaurants is excellent and the choice of wines , spirits and cocktails are second to none . There is pool service all day , you don’t have to move from the spot if you don’t want to ! Also room service until early hours . Water sports apart from parasailing and donut type inflatables are complimentary . You can hire bikes , all part of the package . The mini one experience is definitely worth doing too , at no additional cost . I just don’t know how this hotel manages to provide this service !! All the staff were amazing but a big shout out for Irini (customer relations ), Paulos and Violeta (sky pool bar), who helped make our holiday perfect . Would I return ? Yes absolutely , we are already arranging to return next year . Thank you Ikos Dassia 💕
