Nicest hotel of our journey and biggest overwater bungalows
We finished our honeymoon here for 2 nights in a premium overwater bungalow. The bungalow had the biggest deck, and bathroom, as well as a window overlooking the ocean from the bed. The bungalows had great AC and felt very spacious. The coffee table/window to look underneath at the reef opened so you can feed the fish. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make you feel special and welcome. The GM Laurence Levy came out to greet us at check in and congratulated us on our honeymoon. She also spoke with us at least once per day at meals to check in on us and make sure we were enjoying our stay. The food didn't disappoint in any way. We would absolutely love to come back for a visit and will highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Bora Bora.
All The Feels!
We absolutely loved our 5 day stay at Le Moana! From the moment our boat pulled up to the welcoming smiles of the staff to the moment the boat pulled away with the staff there waving and smiling, this resort made us feel like we were right at home. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, and it was a perfect size with all the best amenities such as a separate bath, separate toilet room, a large closet, a super comfortable large bed, a great shower, and of course the most incredible views — views of the pristine waters of Bora Bora but also views of the beautiful fish below through the glass coffee table. The entire experience was perfection! The AC was cool, the WiFi worked great and was super fast, the breakfast buffets were delicious, housekeeping was impeccably thorough, the local dinner shows were so well done and entertaining, and we just loved loved LOVED the entire staff. The warmest most welcoming smiles. The food and drinks were also all next level. We recommend walking across the street to Matira Beach for sunsets. And we also took a cab to Bloody Mary’s for dinner — a must do while in Bora Bora. We also took a beautiful ferry ride over to the Intercontinental sister resort for a wonderful day at the spa. And while the other resort is newer, they are both equally luxurious yet we found Le Moana to feel warmer and more authentic. Regardless, both resorts are amazing. The only thing that would’ve made Le Moana slightly better would have been an on-site gift shop to get some IC Merch. Just a short walk down the street from Le Moana are great restaurants, a nice gift shop with super reasonable prices, as well the cutest little market. In fact, we were there in October and they were decorating the market for Halloween. Overall, we would highly recommend this property. One of the people (among so, so many) who made this stay so memorable was Rinako, who works as concierge. She was remarkable. She helped us with dinner reservations, taxis, spa appointments, and answered loads of our questions. And throughout our stay she remembered us, would always wave and smile, and would always check in with us to make sure everything we planned was going smooth. In fact, everyone who worked at the resort referred to us by our names the entire time and made us feel so special. A little piece of our hearts will always stay at Le Moana. It was just perfect!
Timi Mataihau the front desk manager was very helpful...Im suggesting you to find him if you want anything. Impossible doesnt mean anything for this guy. Super friendly & helPful with our room changing.
I WISH I WAS STILL THERE
My husband and I just got back from Le Moana & we have no complaints. We stayed in an OWB and was not disappointed. We were exhausted from our trip and we were so happy that our room was ready when we arrived at 10am. We were expecting to have to wait. Check in was the easiest and fastest I have ever had experienced. My husband and I went to several restaurants and did SCUBA most days and did the ATV tour. We never could have done it without the help of the concierge desk, Yapi gave us the best restaurant recommendation and did reservations for everything. Restaurants we went to (all were amazing!): Bloody Mary's, Saint James, The Villa Mahana, The Yacht Club, The Beach Club, Lucky House & also ate at Le Moana. I felt completely safe on the Island and ran most mornings along the main road, there are hundreds of dogs that roam the road and islands, most could careless about you but a few wanted attention. Im a dog person, so i was ok with it. SCUBA diving was some of the best I have ever seen. We dove with Top dive and couldn't be happier. They were always on time and were very friendly. We saw Manta Rays 3 of the 4 days we dove and it was a truly majestical experience. Of course, the black tip reef sharks and many fish and octopi were so fun to see. One thing about Bora Bora is it is expensive to eat there, so know that in advance and don't let it upset you while you are there. Cocktails are $16-22 a pop, however, you are allowed to bring alcohol to the island (check the amounts because depending on what you bring will change the amount). We brought wine and then bought vodka. The only tequila was Jose Cuervo, so in hindsight I would have brought tequila and left a couple of bottles of wine home. European wine is what they sold and it was less than hard alcohol. They had a convenient market about 1/4 mile from our room. We were able to get cheese, meats and crackers there. We also brought non parish-able food from the states. The staff at Le Moana were all friendly & honest people. When we left I accidentally left two things in the room after check out and they tracked me down before we got on the boat to leave. I was very happy to have stayed here rather than on a Motu (we did the motu many years ago), because if you stay on the motu you have to pay $20 roundtrip pp to leave and come back, so you do feel stuck to have to eat at the motu resorts. Le Moana was the perfect location and walking distance to a few restaurants or a quick car ride. I loved the OWB because I always had the perfect spot to look at the beautiful water. Im still dreaming of it!
we stayed here for 4 nights and from the time we were met at the airport until we left we had an amazing time , we stayed in overwater horizon bungalow and had fantastic views each morning of the sun rising, the room itself is very spacious with a large comfortable bed , of course you have the glass coffee table with views of the coral with loads of fish and stingrays swimming by , outside you have a deck with sun loungers , table and a ladder for getting into the beautiful water , just simply loved the room and could stay there for ever !! As for the resort it has a lovely sandy beach and we never had a issue finding beds, canoes and paddleboards are free , you can also go snorkeling of the beach around the bungalows Breakfast was really nice with a great selection of both cold and hot options , something for everyone and sets you up for the day , both lunch and dinner are severed in the restaurant overlooking the beach and offer excellent choices at reasonable prices , happy hour was 5.30 -6.30 where drinks are 2-1 , i think a lot of people also stay here as its on the main island and you do have a couple of other resultants within walking distance , as previously mentioned in other reviews i would definitely recommend a visit to lucky house , there is also a supermarket close by which has most things , You then have lovely Matira beach to explore which is right outside , Back to the resort and wanted to mention all the staff who are so friendly/attentive and will do anything they can to make sure you are taken care of , also the manager Laurence will come round and make sure all is well which is nice , So to sum this up this is an absolutely wonderful resort and i would highly recommend staying here
